all speculation until the announcement at 10am pst, but the general speculation is:
1) retina display screen, great if you read documents/magazines/comics or watch HD movies on a tablet, great for games too.
2) massive processor upgrade, also great for games.
3) LTE, if you use this feature then it's a no-brainer.

Imo droid tablets are just not there yet in terms of interface, app selection, or simply being "the standard." in 3 years maybe, or maybe windoze tabs will be resurgent, but till then I need my latest shiny precious from Cupertino.

You don't need iTunes for the iPad at all anymore, which at least makes the user experience bearable.
That said, it still only runs apps from the app store, which 99% are garbage and the other 1% is Angry Birds.

I do not award stupidity, the amount of anguish, anger, hate and frustration that Itunes has caused me is reason enough to never ever ever ever buy another shitty overpriced hipsterfag apple product EVER AGAIN!
