The affordable green bulb is now on the market. The government presents a 10 million dollars reward for bring an affordable light bulb to the market first. Rush to the stores now and replace your lights. Only 50$ each. Once again a friend of Obama comes through for the nation.

Retailers said the bulb, made by Philips, is likely to be too pricey to have broad appeal. Similar LED bulbs are less than half the cost.
“I don’t want to say it’s exorbitant, but if a customer is only looking at the price, they could come to that conclusion,†said Brad Paulsen, merchant for the light-bulb category at Home Depot, the largest U.S. seller of light bulbs. “This is a Cadillac product, and that’s why you have a premium on it.â€

I use all green bulbs in my apartment. When LED comes down in price I will buy those too. Nothing wrong about going green to save yourself money

(sigh) Another thread gets trolled by brain dead Liberals who really think 50 bucks is an affordable light bulb. They really think a FOB earned that reward, even when there are bulbs out there at half the cost. I really hope the Liberals here live to see it all fall down. Not that they would remember how wrong they were. Liberals have this way of forgetting when they were wrong. I expect them to be out their burning down things to protest government not giving them things.

It probably costs more because of the other requirements of the contest. Parts had to be Made in America and super efficient. Eventually the price will go down and this product will push competition.

The lightbulb angst from the far right is comical. And kind of sad. Even when scraping the bottom of the barrel for years you guys are still entertaining.
