step one secure water
step two secure shelter
step three fire
step four nutrition
step five signal fire
Improve all of the above
step six use coconuts as sunbloc, get tanned -I like solitude so this would not be a problem really.. all I'd need is my knife my magnesium stick and maybe some fishing gear or a rifle with some ammo.
step 7 await rescue or death.

i agree, but rather than waiting for help...
i would build a boat.
i would use it to explore just beyond the island...
as i developed a usable compass and/or learn the stars.
when i am ready to navigate, ill drive my ship east.
yes, east.
[EDIT] not that i wouldn't wait for help, but i would expect for it to not show up.
