They missed a chance to humanize the Hound. I believe the Hound told the story of how he got his scar from his brother not Little Finger.

Arya is my favorite character of the series. In the last book, I flipped through the pages before I read the book, to see how many times she would show up. I think she is going to play a very big part in the series before its all over.
Tyrion is a solid 2nd place.
As for Arya's "water dancing" instructor, the book never really said for sure that he died. It would certianly seem so, but I am hoping to be proven wrong.
