I've got 30,000 or so on my computer. Not that I'll ever read them all, it's just easier than picking and choosing.

Thats just hording behavior. I have about 300 books in my library at home and I've gotten rid of about an equal number over the years. Why keep stuff you never use?

I got rid of several thousand paperbacks shortly after I got my Kindle. Scores of paper-case boxes and several bookshelves full. Got half a room back in exchange for a few gigs of storage space.

Kindle = fail.

I have the kindle software (free) on my iPhone and I read on it all day long. Riding the subway, eating lunch, taking a dump. It's always with me and you wouldn't believe how much text fits on the screen.

I saw a guy on the subway with a Kindle and he had to have a separate bag for it. When I got my iPhone the Kindle was the same price.

Also, the first Kindles needed a light to read in the dark, not so with my iPhone.

I have an Ipad as well and while it's good for reading on, it's become my main gaming machine (Dungeon Hunter for the win!) as well as checking my websites (mmajunkie, huffington post, etc) on lazy mornings.
