Yeah, let's see. Israel assassinated some dude because they claimed he hated them

that's a pretty gross distortion - they took out someone who was a militant leader, and he wasn't organizing people throwing stones, he was involved with splinter groups who have kept up with the rocket attacks even when Hamas themselves have refrained.

If Mexico was lobbing missiles into the US you think things would be any different?

Israel has been the most reserved nation in the world. They can open up a world of pain on the people lobbing missiles at them and yet they haven't.

They haven't?

No

OK

You're welcome

They assassinated an elected leader of a political organization by sending missile carrying drones into Gaza and blowing him up, along with his driver, while he drove down the street. They also blew the hell out of the street, injured a couple of other people (one critically) and started a crap storm which resulted in a bunch of useless rockets being fired into Israel, most of which were shot down, and none of which killed anyone.

Israel followed their assassination up with helicopter gunships, and jet fighter attacks on positions they claim were going to attack them, killing a bunch of kids in the process.

That isn't a "gross distortion"...that's the facts.

If you are in favor of political assassinations as "deterrent" that's your right, but I find it hard to believe you support assassinations but draw the line at people daring to attempt to futilely respond to them. I mean, if some idiot from Gaza blew up a bus with an Israeli politician on it, you would surely condemn any attempt by Israel to retaliate....right? Just to be consistent? Maybe?

Thought not.

/shrug. we have different opinions of which facts are relevant. there's a lot more to him than just being an elected party official, and to me you're giving them pass for the nonstop rocket attacks.

although you can have the last word, or whatever. it's a beautiful evening here and not really feeling the same tired discussions over and over again.

Me either. You've been defending Israel no matter what since this board started. I Don't expect it to change now. It's a difference of opinion we are never going to agree on. Enjoy your evening. It's raining here but still nice and warm.

eh. i'm less pro-Israel nowadays than you might give me credit for especially on the settlements although i'm just as frustrated by people who make excuses for rocket attacks no matter what. anyway, i'm still hopeful for a two state solution, but realistically don't see it happening in this generation.

The thing is the settlements were built with US dollars. This really is horrible
