Record unemployment ( the numbers of people that government doesn;t count)

Failed in the very first sentence.

Are you seriously alleging that unemployment is higher now than it was during the 1930s? Really?

Yup ... 64% labor participation rate ( stated right there on the same government documents) . what are the other 36% doing ( oh and the disabled and retired are already removed from the rate)

Even far-right critics of today's economy are careful to say that today's numbers are "the worst since the Great Depression." I haven't heard a single one claim the bullshit you've spouted here.

Either provide a link showing that the labor participation rate in 1933 (when the official unemployment topped 25%) was worse than it is today to the point that today's unemployment number is actually higher in real terms or stfu. Your word is not enough as you are a proven dumbass.

the labor participation rate has been falling for decades. This is a sign of wealth.

Gas prices are important to people that vote. I think it would be a mistake to discount that. The culture war is stupid. Thats not going to sway the middle, the people the decide elections. Unemployment is still very high. There are a lot of people still looking for work that want to work.

The republicans would easily walk into the WH if they didn't field such morons.

So labor force participation is about what it was in 1985?

Yes. We just have more social safety nets now than we did then, otherwise the situation would be unimaginably worse.

Some people have to work pretty hard to rationalize dumping all their disposable income into precious metals, freeze-dried food and a bomb shelter capable of supporting their fat family.

1929 - 3.2 percent
1930 - 8.7 percent
1931 - 15.9 percent
1932 - 23.6 percent
1933 - 24.9 percent (the highest during the Great Depression)
1934 - 21.7 percent
1935 - 20.1 percent
1936 - 16.9 percent
1937 - 14.3 percent
1938 - 19.0 percent

I'll go with the highest since the 30's
