The GOP doesnt have the same economic backdrop to campaign against this time.
Unemployment and growth are better than they were 2 years ago.
Incumbant republicans cant use the economic malaise to full advantage b/c that hurts them, why havent they made things better....but they cant promote the economic momentum b/c that hurts the party challenging incumbant Dems.
The public never really cares about the debt in great numbers. They care about unemployment and income growth.

No. The left knows Obama sucks. They just need a name/names from the right so they can put on a show, make shit up, and say how much worse those people are.
They are disingenuous automatons and will vote for the D no matter who runs against him.
Add to that Obama has thrown a few trillion dollars around to others to party til the wheels fall off, and he seals the election up nicely.
Riding SEAL 6 hard for an OBL kill or pirate raids makes good headlines, and drowns out stuff like losing Afghanistan, GITMO, indefinite detention, etc.
