the biggest problem with developing for Android is fragmentation - how many different variations of android do you have to account for? what's your minimum spec to be able to sell at the same number of iOS users?

iOS users have proved they love to spend money on shiny gadgets. They are the perfect audience for App Developers.

Should app developers write for Android? Certainly. There's money there. Should they focus on Android over Apple devices?

Nobody buys apps on Android. IOS is MUCH more profitable to develop for.



This. Even if android had 2x as many people, why wouldn't you target the group who've proven they'll queue out in the rain to buy ridiculously overpriced hardware because it's the "cool" thing to do? Those people are walking money mints.


Apple fanbois spend money like drunken sailors. They're a great audience to target.
