How can you be sure of this? Not saying you're necessarily wrong, but I see no reason to believe that "new people" will find either of those sites, especially the IGN one, which (in the case of the Outpost) is an off-topic board related to a game that is pretty much dead.
He might be somewhat right. Because of the sheer size of the IGN site.
For example, months and months ago, I stumbled across Teh Vestible board just browsing the site. I still visit it occasionally out of morbid fascination.

I'm going to give IGN a fair shot.
Last night was over the top. It should not be what we make the decision over.
I think it will mellow out and be a good enough forum, but I still want to keep my options open so I'll be perusing all of them until one of them seems established enough to occupy the majority of my time.
If that doesn't happen I'll probably have to invade the boards my wife posts on. Which will be entertaining as they are a bunch of weak minded cry babies.
