The pictures of the men in the Calvin Klein ad were not originally placed on the boards by any of us, but by an advertiser. It would have been silly and nonsensical for the mods to remove that picture from our threads, when it was blazing out of the right hand corner every third time the board was refreshed.

Yes, but that also makes the larger point that it would be more than hypocritical to force us to see those ads and then censor bacon bikini in a thread. Ohhh we are a family board and must save the children...unless Calvin Klein throws us a benjamin in which case...have a face full o' man junk, yo!

You weren't forced to see the ad before the bacon bikini pic got censored. Chronologically speaking, it was actually the other way around.

In any case, if you feel the ads are inappropriate, maybe you should complain to IGN? I doubt the mods have any control over the ad content.

Yes, that was 666 posts per day on average, and yes, that was intentional.

I am actually cool with the ads. My point is that it would be hypocritical to censor the greatness of bacon bikini while using advertising on the same website that is equally revealing.

I understand that, I'm just saying that the mods only had say-so over the bikinis, not the beefcaeks. You can't blame them for not censoring the beefcaeks when they were unable to keep them off the boards.

If the company you are modding for is fine with skin (IGN certainly has no problem exposing us to it for their profit), then you need to lighten up on your modding or you are doing it for your own personal agenda and not for any company supported purpose. The mods are not some independant entity. They derive their authority from IGN and should look to them for clues as to what is apporpriate. Obviously, a little skin is not a problem.

As I understand it, it is left to moderator discretion, i.e. "where Moderators agree to allow them". Apparently, "where Moderators agree to allow them" isn't here.

I know, I know... "But Darktide posts stuff like that, and it doesn't get modded!" Historically speaking though, Frostfell has always had "cleaner" boards than Darktide. You know this. Incidentally, so has Solclaim, Harvestgain, Thistledown, Wintersebb, etc. Lol... it's Darktide, wtf can you do? I think Ign has long since given up trying to moderate VNT to any real degree.

Sometimes I read VNT for the isht jokes. They've had some epic toilet humor over the years! It's the Great Brown Tide of Lols.

VN:FF's toilet humor is generally less graphic, but I like it too.

Hey, SJ! If you're reading this thread...

If the mods are enforcing rules beyond what the company demands, then that is a personal agenda and is hyppcritical if the comnpany itself is promoting the very thing they are modding. I doubt you can put together an argument that convinces anyone otherwise. It isn't DT that is setting the standard. It is IGN.
