1) We can't just ban anyone we don't like. Despite Xexy, Simon, Asheron, Jojji, and associated cunts being completely retarded, the are as much a part of this board as anyone, and bring life to it. The only time a ban should ever even be considered is if a poster is so disruptive it undermines the integrity of the board. Personalities are too important for a community to just exclude.

2) There must be no filters. We're all adults here. We can cuss. Most of us don't cuss with every sentence we type, and some might, but that's life, and it's expression. Filters are for faggots. Fucking frostfellian fairy faggots.

3) There needs to be an air of neutrality concerning politics/favoritism. If UD or another guild is kind enough to let us move in, we need to make sure in-game shit doesn't cross over to the boards. I'm talking about broad power abuses or biases, and this is probably the single best reason why VN has survived. It's been neutral ground for everyone to broadcast from.

These rules are imperative for a successful future community.

Also, Guild Wars 2? AA floated the idea and it seems legit, although I'm not sure how open-world the game will be. Sandbox games might have an entirely different social aspect with it.

That's exactly what I mean though Aaron, VN has always been a neutral ground for us to gather, discuss, debate, fight, and basically live online. There's a huge level of integrity and authenticity in those basic freedoms, which is why I made this post. Even the potential to silence people because you don't like what they're saying is unhealthy and isn't conducive for community.

I have a private guild website I use for my group of friends that play a bunch of other games together, it serves mainly as a place for us to keep information about games and shit like macros etc..

I could consider opening it up to the greater VNT community and I really don't give a fuck about politics other than I think some people are faggots, but the only people i'd ban would the ones that really deserve it for posting shit that is completely pointless (like viruses or kiddie porn or other shit).

Obviously I couldn't give a shit what people say.

For instance, I would never ban Gaydalf or Spazrael just because I love shitting on them so much.

Anyways, here's what my forums look like, if people wanted an alternative to Caustic that is less neon green and "busy" like his site.

Also, do you guys think the IGN boards will be welcoming? We might just be able to adapt to the new boards, but there might be insane moderation there, something I know will kill the community.

We put some work into our forums so they're actually pretty solid and I have no problem with a bunch of VN people registering as long as they can put aside their petty faggotry and not try and hack each other and shit.

It's just another option, I truly don't care enough about anything that goes on here or in-game to let personal bias really affect things, I'd even let vulno and his faggy crew of mouth breathers post there.

Good, that's the neutrality we need. So far we have like 3 people including you offering boards. As more options spring up I'll make a poll within a day or two. Best case scenario is the new IGN boards are accommodating and have the lack of moderation we enjoy so much here, but that may not be the case.
