What is the point to playing an infiltrator now? Both other assassin classes have more utility and overall hit a lot harder, same goes with archers of course. Infiltrator evade stun was taken away a couple years ago on thrust line and two style chain for stun is nearly impossible to land. Yes they have more spec points to spend but playing other two realms assassins I can not tell a difference with the extra points, just know that I love fighting an infiltrator because they are easy rps. Is there something I am missing on inf that I don't know about? a nice trick that makes them fun to play?

besides more spec points and extra useful gear slot ... none... but with your logic... why play anything that doesn't kill anyone in 1 hit?


playing the, press 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 i win classes is boring as hell.. pro's go for the challenge... nubs play the op fotm

There is no point of playing an inf except to be fodder for SLing SBs with two handers, claw bait for one fingered monkeys trained to play the vampiir class, casting dust for NS stealth wizards, shield slam cake for two fingered meathead tanks, and free RPs for every other class in the game.


The fun part about the previous poster who said you get to kill rangers, I have to laugh. You get to "TRY" and kill rangers, but they aare in groups of 2 to 20 now, so you die anyway. Before you die miserably though, you will, of course, be zephyred about 4 times, desperate bowmaned and then plunked full of holes while trying to vanish because the arrows still target you like spells even though you are supposed to be invisible. They will also knock you out of stealth when vanish wears off because they have DOT effects on them.


Tanks, vamps, minstrels and other assassins climb walls, so you specialize in nothing. You are fodder to all these classes because get this.....NO LISTEN TO THIS>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>


I HAVE TO SAY THIS IN CAPS BECAUSE YOU CAN'T MAKE THIS STUFF UP. AN ARCHER CAN GET AWAY AFTER A KILL BETTER THAN AN ASSASSIN CAN WITH PHASE SHIFT, ZEPHYR, DESPERATE BOWMAN, MOS 5, CAMO, AND IP. AS I SAID, YOU CAN'T MAKE THIS UP. What spec are you? After the beartooth nerf I respecced to slash for the extra HP... But I found like you that I was getting rocked and it seemed pretty unbalanced. I recently decided to switch back to thrust and with 101 str/dex I evade more and output more DPS. I find that I'm much more competitive now.. I can fair pretty well against equal and higher RR assassins and I've even managed to drop a few tanks.

I should probably also mention that my Inf is saracen so that was hurting me even more as a slasher.

Good infi's are a real pita, there's just not too many of them.

Most are trash like most of the scouts are and it makes the class look crappy.

If they get caught without their standard compliment of slam/DA and insta stun bots they don't really know what to do.

But there are a few who are downright scary, and not necessarily rr100 either.

Based on that I would venture that the problem is not the class.

I have an Inf, 2 SB and 2 shades and there is nothing wrong with my Inf, he kicks plenty of arse. If I pop an SB or Shade out of stealth (not using a PA), I win prob 65% of the fights, SB's are cake if they don't get the PA off.

There's nothing 'wrong' with an Infy... just in comparison to the toys the other guys get, you're a bit short handed.
It'd be my suggestion, if someone asked "I want to roll an assassin, what should I play?" I'd suggest the easy of the bunch in an SB.

Personally I don't think there's anything really "bad" about an infy, I actually enjoy mine (however small amounts I play it), the 8 sec stun at rr2-3 is a real bonus, and goes a long way...
I never have too big of a problem with anyone near my rank (So 1-6), I can keep the fight relatively close, the main problem is no stealther friggen solos anymore (apart from high rank assassins, good ones). So it just becomes: "how much work can I do before mez poison wears off, or the SB small man-FG purges to side stun me and make me face down".
