Anyway, back to Warhammer. We shouldn’t have released when we did, everyone knows it. The game wasn’t done, but EA gave us a deadline and threatened the leaders of Mythic with pink slips. We slipped so many times, it had to go out.
We sold mor ethan a million boxes, and only had 300k subs a month later. Going down every since. It’s “stable†now, but guess what? Even Dark Age and Ultima have more subs than we have. How great is that? Games almost a decade make more money than our biggest project.
DAOC is the flagship, hehe. Where is our expansion?

Awsten's wisdom.
How does 10% magic damage and 10% spell pierce add up to 23% more damage in poisons?
Hey genius, how about this, Point blank is a 3 sec spell and so is the nightshade nuke.

I had never heard about it either. I guess a super secret project for a DAOC2 that lasted a very very short time before being canned.
The whole thing just goes to show they never should have neglected DAOC. It is and was a great game. Had they put even 1/4 of the effort into DAOC they did into WAR I would still be playing on the well populated classic servers.
I wonder what will be left working on DAOC after this next 25% layoff.

I'm skeptical. The person is obviously full of rage and bitterness over their impending layoff. So I'm not sure this is the most reliable person for rumors.
Warhammer has fewer subscribers than DAOC? I really doubt that. It's bad, it's really bad. But my feeling is it isn't DAOC bad yet.
He goes on about how bad Warhammer's marketing was. The game sold 1 million copies in just weeks. The hype before the game's release was epic. Marketing wasn't the problem, a premature released product was.
$300 million spent on The Old Republic. Possible, but again I'm skeptical.
I get the feeling there is a kernel of truth with a whole lot of exaggeration here.

It's NaN if you're dumb, and 0 if you aren't.

Dawn of Camelot sounds like something that came up during a brainstorming session and never went any further. I have a hard time believing it had any more substance than your standard "DAOC 2 would so rule" post here on VN.
I can believe DAOC has more accounts than WAR. Look at all the people who left it to play WAR and now are back. Then factor in bot accounts, Team Wizard and similar multi-boxers, and Asian farmers, and it seems entirely possible that there are more open DAOC accounts than WAR. WAR after all sucks and DAOC for all its flaws and lack of resources is still fun.
As for TOR costing more than making an actual Star Wars movie, that's a little hard to believe.

Great read, even if biased. Note "Even Dark Age and Ultima have more subs than we have." Could be true if Subs(DAoC) + Subs(UO) is what the writer means.

Meddy… I can easily believe that DAOC has more people than WoW does.

I wish he/she wouldn't have even mentioned TOR. The comments are all TOR fanboys instead of questions about WAR and DAOC.
It sounds like the Dawn actually had a small team that got disbanded.
