Daoc never advertised. WoW was everywhere...even on coke 12 packs.

Maybe there is a bigger market for players who truly would love the pvp....but they don't even know the option exists.

DAoC did infact advertise... they just didnt advertise in areas outside of the general gaming genre...

they advertised in gaming/computer magazines, websites all off kinds (msn, yahoo, google ads, gaming websites, zdnet websites, web comics) they advertised in retail stores like gamestop...

when you have a limited budget you dont spam everyone with your product, you focus on your target audiance, computer users, and video game players... wich camelot ran ads for both pre-release of the original game, and ad campaigns for each expansion, they even advertised the addition of Darkness falls, housing and NF... they did smaller campaigns for the come back to camelot campaign to reactive for 10 days free, and they advertised there invite a buddy program on webpages

but people have selective memories, they completely disregard all past advertising because mythic hasnt ran any advertising in the last 5 years.... because they have had nothing to advertise... the game is dying with no updates...

heres a great ad campaign for them

HEY COME PLAY OUR GAME WITH MINIMAL SUPPORT, TONS OF BUGS AND NO PLANS FOR UPDATED CONTENT!

i'm sure it will work GREAT!

Most people who matter know of Daoc. They won't play because the game gets no support, has dated graphics and UI and probably most of all, they cannot trust mythic. Advertising right now would be a waste of capital.
