Mordred, the new Origins
Yeah except Origins would bring back a few hundred (or thousand if you want to be wildly optimistic) players instead of the few dozen that doing anything with Mordred would.

True. To be fair I guess I'll add that Origins would take a lot more resources than Mordred would. And the majority of Mythic's resources have been pulled from DAoC and WAR and thrown into SW:TOR's development (per Kai)

Allow me to copy and bot I'll be there perf'n FGs w/ mezz blades.
I played when andred 1st released and it was an awesome ruleset. Problem is stupid classes, ToA, and port humping killed it fast.
Many good times playing on the dreds.

Initially I said no, it couldn't be saved.. but I got to thinking of what they did with warhammer.. a perpetual "free sub" as long as you didn't hit over a certain realm rank.
I would propose using all those resources you made old frontiers with and simply implement them into mordred. It's a dead server anyway, so why let all that hard work go to waste. It's smaller and easier to navigate.
In addition, I would say start people off and staying in Old frontiers. The ability to teleport into housing and Capital city. Master levels can be made with glass found on old frontiers or easy mode quests. The problem with farming glass in toa is there are way too many spots to go to.. by having one zone it'd be easier.
It could draw people from the Blue servers (though temporarily), but more importantly get people back into daoc. Remove level 40 and allow anyone level 40 or less to xp without fear of getting ganked. Put tiers on zones in OF (certain regions restricted to certain levels, ie battlegrounds for each level bracket to prevent instant ganking).
Just like warhammer, just throw a Mordred only free sub plan. As long as you don't hit level 40 or higher than RR5, you can play without pay or something similar. Daoc is quietly dying and any way to revive old populations would be great. Similarly, I'd also implement the same for Gaheris as well. Give them the option of getting OF back. Put some work into the different server types.

I also disagree with the no option. This poll should be re-post without this option. The majority of the 'no' votes are those who hate Mordred let alone have any sort of desire for it's renewal. Also it just encourages general pessimism which is, to be frank, bull. The question is - If it was renewed in some form, would you play? Not just an unjustified 'no' or quoting the same cliched 'it will split the playerbase' 'griefers made me sad:('. Please read the proposal I posted on FH before voting also - lots of the arguments here are unfounded, there are however a few good constructive comments.
As to the general negativity - you have your Ywain. You guys may love Ywain and think the sun shines out of her ass, your entitled to believe this and I dont begrudge or criticise the server in anyway (even though I find it unbelieveably boring). However, I know for a fact there are a lot of good players who would kill to have some sort of PvP server - hell, anything as oppose to the mess that Ywain is today.
All I ask is that if you have no interest in PvP - troll elsewhere. I wouldn't try and interfere with changes on Ywain as it's not my primary server, and I could care less to be honest. If the situation were reversed however I'd be all for some sort of renewal - everybody should be able to play DAoC the way they want to!
Since people probably won't take the time to read through my proposal - let me dispel some myths and answer some unfounded criticisms...
1) @ Semi - In regards to your philosophical rant - Mordred died because of 3 simples factors. TOA - the bugs, new classes and associated problems. The SI Necklace Glitch resulting in bans of up to 800 player accs and the Money Cheat.
In regards to ToA the game is in, as far as DAoC can be, a state of careful equilibrium in regards to class balance/gameplay. As it stands, nothing is going to change majorly so ToA classes will have no issue in a mordred revival, nor will ML's, Artifcats as at this point they are so easily attainable it's laughable compared to first implementation.
The SI & Money Cheat DESTROYED the server. They banned over half the population then the money cheat was the nail in the coffin - what was done to fix/save the playerbase? NOTHING. So people left.
In terms of player psychology im not really sure what you're going on about here... But as it currently stands the playerbase is rock solid. They aren't going anywhere, it's down to the hardcore playerbase. Renewing Mordred would only draw old players out of retirement, even if for only a few months this will bring a subs renewal which can only benefit Ywain as it creates disposable income for a company on it's last legs - there are hundreds of players who 'Shard Hop' looking for the next good PvP, often playing Uthgard when there is no such option. Creating a viable, legitimate outlet for these players to game would only benefit the community/game as a whole - it would also give these players the option to play Ywain in their free time, something im sure they would do also when they taking a time-out from the Dred.
2) @ KaptainKangaroo - "Anybody who disagrees with you is wrong" I think you need to look at your post and re-assess this comment yourself... As for NF etc providing PVP - you do understand the difference between REALM VS REALM and PLAYER vs PLAYER? Because for a second there it seemed like you didnt know what you were talking about.
3) @ Jogger - A nice proposal and something I would be in favour of, if in a few weeks this proposal has gained no leeway with the Playerbase I would deffinitely consider helping organise something along these lines - even if it only renews the pop for a few months it would be worth it in my opinion, just for a few months of decent DAoC!
4) @ Zinju - Of course it will never be what it was, this proposal is about SAVING what's left of Mordred. We can't go back to the golden age of 2002-2005, but we can have something new, something different.
5) @ Lasraik - The big one. THERE ISN'T ENOUGH PLAYERS TO SUPPORT IT. Well, the general consensus here is none of the Ywain pop would play PvP. So what are you worried about? By your own logic it would only draw old players out of retirement/the hundreds from Freeshards. But lets discard this nonsense for a minute and say the Ywain pop do give it a go. So worstcase Scenario the Ywain pop drops a few hundred for a few months - god forbid you may be able to get some decent 8v8/Solo action while the hype surrounds Mordred. THE PLAYERS WONT QUIT DAOC because they try Mord for a while and hate it again. When the hype dies, if it dies, the Ywain players return and you get your zergfestival back. End result? = a few hundred more subs and an influx of old players to the dwindling playerbase.
End rant.

Who cares about Mordred, most freeshards are like Mordred and a lot better. At least the CSRs there respond when you need help.
