It sure can be... PvE griefing while lvling can be avoided easily. Smack talking can be avoided by ignore as it can be on Ywain. If you don't like fighting kids who depend on portals go to a non portal PvP area. IMO Humberton area would be a VERY fun PvP area

Edit: Instead of wiping the server let Mordred stand as is and re-open Andred as a new PvP server... Just a thought.

I disagree with the "NO" option. People, who for whatever reason, don't want Mordred to be anywhere as an option, vote for that. Most of these seem to be ppl who got killed off the server. If you vote no, you should have to justify why.

I voted yes, because I think, personally, that a copy to the server would revive a lot of interest. If there was no interest in Mordred as an option, there would not be a poll or a post of this sort popping up 2 or 3 times a month on VN's. Most of the ppl who are for this option are old players of Mordred, who, if not active at this time, would re-up if the server had as few as 300 ppl playing at a time

Just my opinion

Can the Mordred server be saved? There are 3 common suggestions for saving it. Wiping the server and allowing everyone to start over new and removing /level 40. Or enabling players to copying existing characters to Mordred. Or fixing, changing, or revamping the PvP ruleset.

And the other common suggestion is it can't be saved.

The ruleset on Mordred is retarded.

The YWAIN CLUSTER has a better PvP/RvR ruleset.

If you think that Mordred can be saved through such actions you do not understand the psychology of players, the pshchology behind what killed Mordred. To save Mordred would require saving the entire game. To revitalize Mordred for more than a month or two would require sweeping changes to both Mordred and to the game. Not just a few simple changes but hundreds of changes, some would be rather drastic changes.

At one time a charcopy to Mordred, while not “saving” Mordred it would have revitalized Mordred for some months but it would never have “saved” Mordred.

I voted “no” and I would like Mordred to be saved. What I want has nothing to do with reality.

If we want to get existential with the answer to the question, “Can Mordred be saved?” we can come up with many situations where Mordred could come back to life. Reality is different than existentialism where any concept could be real.

"Saved" does not mean, “revitalized for a month or two by cannibalizing the population of the normal server.”

“Can Mordred be saved?”

Logic and reality dictate that the answer is, No!

Given Mythic and the stupidity of those who drove the game to where it is today, etc. . . . No, Mordred can’t be saved.

Is there some strange alternate universe where DAoC and Mordred are flourishing, probability but it is not this universe. In this universe Mordred was killed by the same developers/game designers/people that drove the nails into the coffin of the normal game of DAoC.

Any Mordred player can return to Mordred at any time. Nothing is stopping them. That they are not playing on Mordred is a testament to the opposite of what you seem to think.

At one time Mordred “had as few as 300 ppl playing at a time” and those 300 ppl did not revitalize Mordred and those 300 ppl did not get players to “re-up if the server had as few as 300 ppl playing at a time”.

That there were 300 on Mordred and those who played on Mordred have vanished, it refutes your position.

“Can Mordred be saved?”

Not without drastic changes to the game. Not without about $10 million to $15 million worth of redevelopment of the entire game. No. Mordred cannot be saved.

I voted "No" because there wasn't a "Why would Mythic even bother?" option.

How would wiping the server solve the problem? You'd be back in the same place 6 months down the line once the hardcore RvR players reach 50 and the population starts dropping.

The ruleset needs an overhaul. All the expansions add too much land area to the game. All of the classes added since SI just made the problems with the server worse.

I voted pie because I don't care. The truth is, no it can't be saved and the mordred 4eva crowd simply can't understand let it go, just like the OF4eva (myself included) crowd can't let THAT go. The simple fact remains, there are not enough active subscribers left to sustain 2 different servers. Splitting the population would be a death knell for DAoC. As much as I would like an option that is NOT ywain or gaheris (Origins, classic, dred-gaheris, take your pick) I accept that it's a bad idea to implement.

Furthermore, I do not think that char copy would "save" Mordred. I do not think that most people would bother to play the toons that they copied there. They'd just sit there forgotten. That's why I fully support letting the people gtfo Mordred with their toons so they can be part of the final solution of Ywain.

To save Mordred = Create a PVP Zone in the Ywain Cluster. Problem solved, everyone is happy.
