Anyone else think its about time they introduce some sort of "Astral Currency" or a new /bg loot system that means people can't keep being jacked?
In my opinion, no weapon or item ingame should be costing people 200+ plat.
It's just stupid.
I was never in favour of the Glass/Dragon scales systems in the first place as I felt it took something away from the game making it easy mode. However since they've done it anyway, wouldn't ML10 be another good option?
The fact ML10 is a tri-realm encounter makes it quite entertaining and worthwhile for the fun
I just see more people getting frustrated unless they fix the price of the loot or the risk of people jacking it.

Well frankly they should start with nerfing the hell out of some of that crap. Every time they ever add these stupid items to the game it goes badly. I don't for the life of me understand why nobody understands that these kinds of short term stimulus are just like a junkie taking another hit and that doing it makes their game sicker overall.
The beauty of the original DAOC design was how it differed from EQ. You kept your stuff and you could (slowly) acquire just about everything on your own. As they itemized epic zones and dragon zones and DF and SI and then ToA they forgot that being able to individually progress your character (when group/party raids weren't an option) kept people going. The irony is that by being able to keep going at it alone, people will look for 'better' alternatives (groups/teamwork) when it's beneficial.
These "epic" encounters that require (or are intended to require 2-3 groups) breaks that contract. You simply cannot get this stuff without playing that way. And with the broken down and crippled community that is left over people are left with jumping in a /region formed raid which is basically the equivalent to responding to an email from a Nigerian prince to get ml10 stuff or suffering with gear that flat out will lose you a substantial number of encounters regardless of skill, realm rank etc, or buying the items for outrageous and often time real money. If Mythic wants to charge me 15$ an item for ML10 look I'd much rather than do it themselves rather than effectively drive people toward plat farmers which they claim are against the TOS etc.

but since they have I think they need a solution to obtaining them / raiding them

/nerf them OR boost crafting so they can add comparable procs/effects to crafted items. I'm personally a fan of boosting crafting regardless of the outcome. While I don't like to craft personally, I know some people do and I would like to see a bigger market for their time.

on the dragon myth quest, offer a ml token that you can use to buy ml10 gear. best stuff being no more than like 10 crappy stuff no one uses be like 1.
or buyable with BPs that i wouldnt mind at all

If they leave ml10 items as they are, they may as well un nerf everything they've ever nerfed in this game. They were no worse. Smite clerics, left axe, animists, vamps.... everything.

They need something, the prices of these items are ridiculous. I play maybe 5 hours a week, sometimes in 30minute increments, so I can't go on a ml10 raid - and probably wouldn't win if I did.
In Mid, the cheapest offer I got for a conflag in a week of trying was 325p. That's just crazy. Luckily, I just transferred the plat to Alb and bought one for 125p. But still - there are no items that should cost that much. And really, if items are being stolen, Mythic needs to step up and either stop it, or make these items purchasable by Glass or Scales.

Easiest Solution - Add ML10 Item Merchant, items purchasable via BPs and/or Glass
Better Solution - Do this and buff crafting to make items on par.
I don't trust nerfing them as knowing Mythic's history they will become useless...which is just another extreme not needed.

The only issue I would see with any of this would be...New or Returning Players...New or Returning players would have issues simply because starting out, you are lost on everything UNLESS you read the VNboards or you read camelotherald...but a lot of people could careless about VN because of the amount of drama that has come here off/on over the years. Also, new or returning players would still be in rough/gimpy armor, so they would have issues obtaining these items, unless, they had BPs before they took off. But, new players wouldn't be able to enjoy it, because, i'm sure mythic would set the bps fairly high for ML10 loot if they done this. I am ALL for this idea. I think its an awesome idea. But, I'm sure Mythic(giving a lot of credit here, maybe I shouldn't) is probably thinking the same thing.
As far as boosting player crafted stuff. I say that this has been needed for awhile. The stuff is fairly weak compared to some of the stuff out there now. It's almost as if they are trying to get rid of Crafters altogether. I mean, how many casters seriously wear a crafted helm+crafted legs now? I bet a lot of them will be wearing Cloth Cap + ml10 leggings. CC for the power.
Artifacts are pretty much useless any more, except some can be good fillers for temps and their /use. Maybe fix some of the /uses on some of them or some of the stats possibly?
