You are saying this I never have.

Today the RvR is much much more centralized and clustered up then it ever was before, just the fact that the natural travel routes are simply *poof* gone from the game says alot. Today we sit 4 mins on a boat where we could have had a nice walk somewhere and gotten fights on the way.


Emain was the main zone back in the day and that was good, left 2 other zones for another type of action, thats what this frontier fails at.

Why would I go to some random remote tower in middle of nowhere when there is no chance anyone will come by? If I flame the towe what will happend then..1st nothing then 4-10 fgs show up and say HI.

LPC certainly is a reason for dismissal of qq'ing (aka I died in an RvR zone)

Was the patch where you could level your artifacts anywhere you liked. Before that it was specific mobs or NF mobs. So you lost the levelers, and by doing so the entire foodchain collapsed. The level hunters was no more, the ppl hunting the hunters where no more, etc etc. It was basicly a disaster, everything was affected from griefers to soloers, to smallmans to 8v8 groups to even zergs! Now everything is around the keeps/bridges and thats about it.

Obviously you were an alb or mid back in the emain days. As a hib, it was a total drag having to run basically through 2 zones to even get to emain. This was before speed6 and god help you if you didn't have a bard or were in a zerg where there was no such thing as a croc ring and everyone basically ran at chanter/warden speed or worse. No teleporters, hasteners, personal hosres, etc. And constantly defending was a bit of a drag. Was it always like this, no. But when no one was leading or willing to go exploring another realm on the chance that there was some action in another realm it was lugging it to emain.

When people cry out to bring back emain/OF, I always wonder which version.

There was always speed 6, you just needed a Bard that wasn't lazy.

Interesting take on things. I don't think you're completely wrong but I also don't think artifact levelling was the base of the "NF-action" pyramid so to speak.
