Purge Realm Ability |
Ok, here are my thoughts. Purge is a very important aspect to any class, but I find that for lower RR characters you have to sacrifice too much damage and other RA's to get a decent level of Purge. I also feel that Purge 2 and 3 are not quite worth investing in, you may as well stay at 1 or go higher. Probably people with high RR's out there that run Purge5 and lots of passives won't agree with this, but I suggest something along the lines of the following changes:
Purge1 - 15min RUT, 5 second delay
Purge2 - 12min RUT, 2 second delay
Purge3 - 11min RUT
Purge4 - 8min RUT
Purge5 - 5min RUT
Perhaps those exact numbers aren't the best way to do it, but instead of 15/15/15/10/5, I'd like to see a slight decrease in RUT for each level of Purge, so 15/x/x/x/5.
Thoughts?

Purge should be free to all classes and the timers should be tied to your RR.
There should be a BIG glowing graphic that makes it painfully obvious that you hit Purge.

It's good as is. The player is supposed to pick the correct negative effect to use it on in a given situation, not just use it at the first sign of trouble. It requires coordinating cures and predicting when the next form of cc or whatever is going to happen, and that's a good thing.

They should just give us an immunity timer to all other forms of CC after the use of purge.
I disagree w/the above poster, not every1 has a means of countering the other negative effects (vizzies yes, stealthers not so much)...
After all most of the time there is no anticipating that second form of CC inc, cause it usually happens immediately after you purge the 1st one (/cough HIbs****)
So as I said,
They should just give us an immunity timer to all other forms of CC after the use of purge.

I had no idea about what you just said. But now that i've been educated on how to use purge (edit: I hope you did notice my sarcasm), I just realized that the same thing still applies, it wouldn't hurt if they changed the 15/15/15/10/5 RUT to something like 15/14/12/9/5.
I'm not whining that CC is Overpowered and complaining that Purge doesn't do enough. I'm just saying that Purge 2,3, and 4 seem to be not as good of a tradeoff as Purge 1 or 5. So adjusting the Reuse Timers could make those middle levels of the RA a little more attractive while giving more of a benefit for more realm skill points invested. And since everyone uses Purge and its a big aspect of all RvR I don't think this would be much of a problem. It wouldn't even affect RvR in regards to crowd control, it would just allow some people to use a slightly lower level of Purge with less of a RUT, and therefore they can think about investing a few more points into some other realm abilities. Whereas those using Purge 1 or Purge 5 are still going to use Purge 1 or Purge 5 with the same effect. This should simply add more diversity to how you spec your characters RA's.
Well that being said, I doubt Mythic will bother to change anything that already works fairly well if they don't change things that are obviously messed up. I just thought they could have done Purge a little better in 1.108.

My revamp of Purge would look like this:
Purge 1 - 10 minutes, instant cast
Purge 2 - 7 1/2 minutes, instant cast, 10% immunity timer increase
Purge 3 - 5 minutes, instant cast, 25% immunity timer increase
Purge 4 - 3 minutes, instant cast, 50% immunity timer increase
Purge 5 - 2 minutes, instant cast, 100% immunity timer increase
IOW with Purge 5, you'd get 2 minutes immunity when you purged mezz instead of the usual 1 minute.

See Meddyck that would change RvR a lot and I don't really like the idea. I don't think that the minimum and maximum levels of Purged should be changed much (if at all), I just want more diversity in how to spec RA's, which was the entire point of 1.108. Unfortunately, as I already said, I feel that Purge 2, 3, and 4, are not quite worth the investment, and I only use them if I simply don't have enough RSP to get the next level. Therefore, adjusting the RUT a bit will help to get more diverse RA specs.

I like this idea but I think Purge 3-5 should all have a 5 minute timer. 2 and 3 minutes are just way to short a reuse. Purge 5 would basically make you immune to CC.
