its funny, but you just made me realize that I had a dream of owning lots of archers on my valewalker. And no it didn't happen last night, but I just realize now it was actually a dream. And I don't think I was playing DAOC in the dream, I WAS the valewalker... that was quite fun.
Actually the only reason I had the dream was cuz I got jumped on by 6 hunters in DF while playing my VW and Hero.

1. Separate the buffs from the debuffs.
Have wanted this for years, despite what the super heros say it would make it a lot easier to distinguish them from buffs, they can get mixed in with buffs if you use abilities after being debuffed.
2. Mouseover tooltips for enemy players. (shows class and race without having to actually click on them from a distance.)
Stupid idea. Learn the game. This is one of the things that makes the game good, IDing what you are about to fight or trying to camo what you are.
3. More options in chat window. (right click on a persons name and have a menu to chose whether to ignor, invite, whisper, ect.)
Not very important.
Second, a postal system so you're able to mail PLAT to your ALTS.
I nice option in a new game but just buy a house.
I know this isn't WoW or WaR. There are tons of MMOs other than those two that have these options. Read up.
Yeah whatever, they are probably all much newer and crappier than DAoC, lots of more important things can be done but without some massive changes, which will never happen, DAoC will never make a resurgance.

A mail system at this point in time with the game's lifecycle probably isn't feasible, unless they can borrow something from Warhammer somehow.
But the game BADLY needs a way to be able to pass gold/plats between alts. Surely something can be coded into the house vault system to allow it to store plats too. Even if the amount that can be stored is relatively modest (10p say) it would still really help.
I don't see it being hard to add an account vault and /settle command like you have with a CM although I always have a house to do stuff like this. Only annoying thing about /settle is you have to enter in the copper value.

just remember the magic number 7... enter the number of plat followed by 7 zeroes.

from time to time revert nf back to old frontiers for a week or two to celebrate a holiday or memorial and then bring it back to nf after that time. i think to appease people the idea is sound but im not sure about practical. i think they would do well to work on that. do it every month or so for a week maybe. who knows. dont know if they have the man power to do something like this.
ui and chat changes would be nice. i think 2 servers instead of 1 big one would be great. mail system would be cool but for sure more bag/vault space is also a great idea.

IMO several other games got it right. pay for extra vault space. be it through coin or pve or pvp
W/ large home you get extra public vaults. horay.
W/ larger houses add 5 personal vault slots per tier. Like a prestige slot or something.
BP's for extra vault slots? Some people would rather add to their vault space than sell BP's @ .5g per for ML1-10
Allow an extra 7 slots for completion of the Big 3 quest (since you just filled 7 with slayer weap + 6 armor pieces)
Allow for Table storage on crafter tables/forges in housing. just like mount saddles. There is already a bunch of crap thrown all over the alch tables. why not let a player store 200 Ground Drac Scales, 200 Swamp Fog, 200 Treant Bloods, etc on their SC table at home? I know that none of you folks are sitting at a desk with nothing but a keyboard, monitor and mouse on it.

#1 that the icons for /use of (potions, items, artifacts) darken when not available (i guess its called cool down), just like icons for spells and realm abilities darken when you can't use them.
#2 sell back or salvage all old BP items.
#3 and a way to transfer BPs and plats between your toons. Maybe a way to purchase trade able tokens and then sell them back. ie BP tokens, and Plat tokens.
but if I had to choose just 1 thing, it would be the /use icons. That would make such a huge difference, and I can't see how it would be hard to implement.
