Back when they 'updated' daoc sounds. Was just a salvage job from imperator to try and get some use out of it. So for a little while, your toons went pew pew pew.
Judging by the biggest backlash of new content ever, I'd say safely that you wouldn't have liked it.
I don't Hate Mark Jacobs, I just dislike a lot of the things he did. He did some good, don't get me wrong, but I really don't like his leading style. I think daoc in general would have been a lot better off had he left and Matt Firor stayed. Then again...that could be said for about 50% maybe more of the old daoc staff. Course it's easy to say it would have been. I don't actually know or pretend to know, it's just my opinion that we wouldn't have had WAR, and would have had a TON more funds put back into daoc. Mark was too scatter brained to stay focused on what made his co-founding title worth anything. I was relieved when I heard he left the team, knowing someone more focused could take the reigns and actually DO something with DAoC. Sadly that hasn't QUITE happened yet, but hey, you never know. These new guys seem to like the game enough to put some time into it. Yes, they screw 10 things up when trying to fix 1, but it's 15 year old code that they are dealing with and no original programmers are left.
I would probably give Bioware Mythic...or just Bioware now as it clearly says on the webpage(not even a footnote of the name Mythic is on there >.>
, but anyways I would give them my first born child if I heard these three things:1. DAoC will NOT go F2P
2. Matt Firor has been re-hired
3. EA invests a million dollars into DAoC

Edit to add: Also, if it had NOT been for Mark Jacob's scatterbrained antics, daoc may have never been made, as daoc was not the first game Mythic Entertainment made. I credit him where it's due, and don't when it's not.
