And other guy.. itwas an exxageration thats why it seems highly inaccurate. but why dont you address some of my other points. how r they going to make profit on f2p except bu selling rps or selling very good gear? theyd have to sell something i would think . and honestly i cannot stand all the free games out there that want yoh to link ur account with a paupal and try to sellu stuff all the time. well i think we need to distinguish between two things... f2p and no monthly fee. i dont get mad when i see a new mmo releases thats not subscription bassed but ill never play one of those games thays entirely free. p.s. vn plz make an android app or version of the boards its impossible for ke to see whag im writing

Honestly, if they'd add a plat seller and merchants selling the high end loots we have atm, that would be more or less exactly what chinese farmers are currently doing, without the perma-squatted ML10 and other good spawns.

you know, eve online actually made an attempt at getting rid of the gold farmers, it didnt work entirely but it made a big dent, and increased profits for the game company. what they did is allow you to take game time codes you bought online and sell them in game. so you give the game company money for a 30 day sub and sell the 30 day sub to someone for in game money, game company gets the profit and you get to buy all the plat you want without violating the rules and fearing a ban. the game companies always complain about other people profiting off their work, well get off your @$$ and do something about it. you lose subs from the farmers but pick up revenue off selling time codes, also for avid pve folks they can buy time codes for plat and play for free. worth a try folks.

In theory, they could sell things like vanity items, dyes, and other items that wouldn't ruin balance. If they sold armor or weapons, I would hope they wouldn't make it superior to anything that can already be obtained.

In practice, however, is a completely different story.

If I had the chance to talk with Mark Jacobs I think it would go like this:

TropicanaJones: Hey Mark!

MJ: Hey Tj!

tj: So I had this great idea, would you like to hear it?

mj: Well...I...uh guess so?

tj: great! Ok so it goes like this > At this point I turn around, pull my pants down, take a nice steamy dump in a brown paper bag, roll it up, set it at his feet, and light it on fire. Then I say, ok you see that bag?

MJ: Yeah

Tj: This is a new MMO. Lets call it, ROOOOOOOOMAAAAANNNSSS INNNN SPAAAAAAAAAAAAACE. You gotta say it right.

MJ: Thats just a steaming pile of flaming poo, though...

TJ: Yeah...I guess it is...

MJ: ok cya

Conversation over.

Two weeks later, MJ talks to MF (matt firor)

MJ: Hey, I got this sweet idea for an mmo!

MF: Yeah? cool let me hear it?

MJ: Sure, its an mmo called Imperator and its about romans in space!

MF: Uhhh...mark I gotta tell ya something....this my two week notice.

MJ: Oh...ok...well you go have fun doing real stuff, im gonna stick with this romans in..err I mean imperator, and spend tons of subscriber money on selfish things isntead putting that money back into daoc.

MF: /facepalm

I think Imperator was likely to be a much bigger success than WAR. I woulda tried it, don't know why you think its such a stupid idea.
