Soooo, if a hacker hacks into someones account, steals all of their gear/plat, destroys their account, Mythic never investigates or returns the poor guys stuff that the kackzor stole?

urple]That is correct.
BUT! If said hacker uses a macro for crafting, stands on the side of a ledge (that for some reason is an exploit), or god forbid runs radar....BAM !! investigate and PERMABAN !!
[color

urple]That is somewhat correct. But it does not need to be a hacker that cheats. Any cheat that Mythic catches Mythic will punish/warn them. . . . as it should be.
Macro crafting, last I heard, would simply get you a suspension and reset your crafting to zero. Standing where mobs can’t get at you may get you a warning or suspension (If you have been previously warned or suspended then you may end up getting a ban). Radar will get you a permaban . . . usually.
IMO Mythic’s policy on hacked accounts is about as stupid as could be. WoW/Blizzard has shown that it is better for the player(s) and the company to take a totally different view of hacked accounts. Blizzard will rebuild the account for the player and then go after the hacker. . . .and WoW is huge. Mythic will tell the player, “tough poop†and DAoC, though it is a better game than WoW, is dieing.
Mythic’s policy concerning hacked accounts was created by MJ and we all know how loved to be self-destructive with DAoC.
Sheesh, I get emails from WoW about every 6 months letting me know that someone suspiciously logged into my WoW account, that I haven't played since week 3 of go live, but Mythic/EA could care less about their current paying customers?........

urple]That is a Phishing scam and probably not actually from Blizzard. They are trying to get you to use one of the links in the email to access your account and the link will send you to a fake Blizzard web site.
or
if you allow your email to show you advertisements then just opening the email could infect your computer with one of those viruses/keylogger/rootkits that is imbedded in scripts/advertisements.
