Standard necro is not OP defense:

If they were OP more peope would play them.

CV has like 100, and its not uncommon to see 3 necro's in an alb Labby group. Alb duo's in nf are minst+necro. Alb zergs have 4+.

At what point is there enough people playing them?

Don`t play Labby.

And Alb zergs have 20 wizzs, 10 minstrels, 20 clerics... also. So they all must be overpowered and much more easier to play.

necromancers are the most special class in game, with a unique play style and unique problems in handling them. the problem is that people that never played a necromancer are calling him op and crying for nerfs, but if they every play one that would change their mind. you must have played a necromancer for some time to understand his weakness and his strength, if you never did this you will most likly loose against a good played necromancer.

now for that 25% pierce stuff. this is more or less only a damage scaling. mythic wants necromancer to do more damage then they would do with 10% pierce only. they also could just remove the 25% spell pierce from necromancers and increase the devle of the spells instead. but they do not do this because of a very good reason and this is how necromancer templates are build. removing the spell pierce is like giving a necromancer 4 extra item slots for their templates, giving them more utility then they already got within the template. again you understand that if you have done a template for a necromancer.

overall the damage a necromancer does is much lower then most other casters do. so i really see no reason for a nerf here.

The 10% cap applies to players and doesn't take into account what their target is.


Pets that have a spell casting option draw from the players template for pierce resist which is capped for those pets at 25% rather than the player's own 10% cap.


Most people complain because pet classes like animist, necro and theurgist, because of the way they work with their pets, have more than a nominal control of their pet's casts, meaning they get (or for the animists - got) more value out of 25% pierce cap for pets.

mobs dont have resists from items so spell pierce has no effect

Wow I have stumbled on a the trail of Tears here. Before i post anything i agree completly i would sacrafice 25% spell peirce for all of the necromancers bugs to be fixed.

Let me list some of the things the necromancers dont get the Luxury of playing with that everyone else gets to .

1. Cant use 75% of the items that exist today that includes, potions, defensive/offensive procs, charges. Even Items that are for the necro only you cannot use the charges or procs.
2. Casting speed does not transfer to the pet. aswell as half the other TOA stats
3. Half of the realm ability's don't transfer to the pet or don't work. Such as MoC or Aug dexterity.
4. say your on the side of a keep or tower or bridge and somebody jumps off. you cannot chase them without having to go all the way around.
5. Pet randomly runs off sometimes rendering you worthless having to return for buffs.
6. when you in a laggy situation such as keeps or Live events you can forget playing in them on your necro because your pet cant keep up with you if it is too laggy. ( DF event, Keep Raid Event )
7. Necromancers have the most Worthless RR5 in the game to date.

These are just the bugs and problems i can think of the list goes on and on.

Please play a class extensively before you cry about it because it killed you 1v1.

P.S. CC immune pets is not a bug its supposed to be that way. read your patch notes.

Whoops forgot one. Archery Still crits the Necromancer pets As PvE monsters not RvR. Meaning crits are above 50% of dammage delt.

Your complaints are invalid. Any other class with all those "advantages" will fall versus the raw damage mitigation, CC immunity and focused DPS of a necro.


You have no argument.


The only real vulnerbility of a necro is a debuff nuker or hunter/ranger. And even those are not a garuntee, if they make 1 mistake the necro can take the fight.

There are a few things they need to fix on necro's.

If they don't want to fix the spell pierce issue, I would suggest lowering the delve of the spells.
Also, imo a shade shouldn't be able to drop storms or other ML abilities without its pet near by (at least 350 units).

Besides that.. it would be pretty scary to fight 4 necros, cleric, friar (rejuv), sorc, minst setup.
