Fixed it.

All I had to do was delete my roaming character folder.

That's useful info, thanks. You probably could have just deleted only the two files inside that folder that belong to the bugged character.

You lost all your hotbar and qbind info for all your toons, right?

I'm glad you told us this -- I'm going to add a feature to Mojo that allows people to perform this fix with the click of a button for just a single toon.

Yes.

You lose all of your qbinds and hotbars.

This is the directory I used to get to it...

C:\Users\(Your windows user name)\appdata\roaming\Electronic Arts\Dark Age of Camelot\LotM

Open up LoTM, and then delete the 2 (or 3) things associated with your character.

It worked last night, but now logging on today it isn't working. Even after deleting the files again.

I've also noticed when I ctl-alt-del to close the program, it's still running. It doesn't say "Not Responding". What is the longest anyone has let it load? I've let it run about 10 minutes and still doesn't load.

When you can't log in, you should always check to make sure that camelot.exe, camelot.bin and game.dll aren't still running in your process list. A reboot will get rid of them.

Having multiple copies of any of these running might cause file corruption.

I've heard (but never experienced) that sometimes when the game doesn't load (gets to full loading bar and just sits there) you can hit escape and to close the window, but the game.dll is still running.

Since Mythic patched today, I'm guessing that you tested this with the new version, possibly on Pendragon. If so, inconsistent results may be the result of changes in the patched files.

Pendragon uses a different folder for the character's config files. For Pendragon, you have to delete the files in:

C:\Users\(Your windows user name)\appdata\roaming\Electronic Arts\Dark Age of Camelot\Test

Since there's a new version, and since you're seeing inconsistent results, you might want to reboot to get the PC in a consistent state, then test again, and then, if the error recurs, look again in critical.log for error messages.

You may also find some useful info in Event Viewer in Windows Log/Applications or Windows Log/System.

Just because DAOC is responding (i.e. is processing messages from the operating system) doesn't mean that it's loading or doing anything useful. DAOC is probably just sitting there doing nothing except responding to the OS.

If you want to forcibly terminate DAOC's programs (or any other program) use "End Process" on Task Manager's Processes Tab instead of "End Task" on the Applications tab. (The names of these things may have changed in Windows 7 ... these are the names in Vista.)

this was covered in other posts when they first implemented the new content. i have had the same issue on my animist and enchanter. yes deleting those files will allow you to log in without issue but it works one time. for it to continue to work you have to do it every time. hopefully the patch today will fix this.

LothianChef, if you want to save time, here's something you can try before you download the whole game from scratch.

There are two errors in your log that sound like they could have something to do with your problem:

*** Could not find zonejump.csv from [frontiers/zones/zone164/csv164.mpk]
*** Could not find zonejump.csv from [frontiers/zones/zone167/csv167.mpk]

The two files in those messages (csv164.mpk and csv167.mpk) are probably missing or corrupted, so you want to force the patcher to download new copies of them. Here's how to do that:

1. Rename those two files so the patcher can't find them. For example, rename them csv164.mpk.old and csv167.mpk.old.

2. Rename a file called mft.myp in DAOC's install directory so the patcher can't find it. For example, rename it mft.myp.old.

3. Run the patcher.

Tried it but still cannot login necromancer, but thanks for the tip.

Downloaded a fresh version of daoc, still the same problem.

Still the same errors though:

**** ERROR: Could not load: Items/PICT_Hibernia_Shield_Small.nif
**** ERROR: Could not load: Items/PICT_Hibernia_Shield_Large.nif
*** Could not find zonejump.csv from [frontiers/zones/zone164/csv164.mpk]
*** Could not find zonejump.csv from [frontiers/zones/zone167/csv167.mpk]

My ani has been bugged like this since the last patch. Was hoping this one woudl fix it, but no luck. There is a thread about it. I talked extensively to CSRs. They do not know what is wrong or how to fix it. I have just given up on them fixing it. I have to log twice every time, three times every once in a while. Get to the end of the loading screen, hit esc, drop to desk top, re-log.

Do not delete your roaming files. It only fixes it once and you have to redo all your quickbars. Just log in, hit esc when it freezes, log in again. Same result, (fixed once) less annoyance.

I have tried changing zones I log out, changing gear, switching computers, nothing seems to work.

Actually, come to think of it my eld got bugged randomly between patches, and I have never heard of anyone with a non-caster class bugged. I wonder if it is gear related. That sounds crazy to me, but the only thing I can think of that I changed on the eld was that I started buying gear for my rvr template, and it was going to be identical to the one my ani wears. I might try removing all the gear from the ani and see if that changes anything.
