I think it will suck. too much instance=no open world rvr. I dont think you can have both or else the population gets too fractured. Also its my opinion that rvr instances burn people out and they quit and thats a big reason new pvp fails all the time. Also on the suck list is 3 sides with mirror classes. there will prolly be no real interrupts and in general much gayness. 3 sides will make the servers last a little longer but I predict suck.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
instances/arenas whatever they are calling it in that game.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly... you say this yet there is no instances/arenas in this game. Again Its completely open to everyone from that server, it has an area where the 3 servers fight in pvp the same as DAOC. your basically pulling ideas out of your -ss Anyone can make up stuff and say it sucks.
Really am I misinformed that there is an area called the mists where the WvWvW takes place? Is there not also an area for tournaments etc where you get a fully geared toon to play with? If thats wrong then my B.

When you said instanced i was assuming you were thinking how GW1 was where the world was instanced and you didnt come across other people playing. and Instance battles like that of warhammer and rift. I just wanted to make sure you didnt think that was the only pvp. there are the tournament matches like that but i was more refering to the open PVP area (the mist) but i wouldnt refer to it as an instance because it doesnt reset after 15 minutes and people arent sperated. its a very large battle area like that in DAOC basically a huge zone, that wont change for weeks and has no limit on the people there.
I dont see how you can think this will suck because its the same set up as DAOC. Unless you think DAOC Frontiers sucks aswell.
You can takes keeps, and other objectives, you can control lumber mills and mines for resoureces to upgrade keeps and build seige weapons.
The only thing i agree with you and dont like is that all 3 sides will have the exact same classes. but id rather take that with a 3way fight over 2 sides with different classes where 1 side always becomes over powered

he isnt saying the mist/frontier is instanced... he's saying the fact that there will be instanced areas (the tournament match areas and such) that the population will be fractured and not all focused on the open world enviroment.

yet daoc has much more pvp area than does gw2, I believe. So while fractionated, the open world pvp will probably be more concentrated. I am not sure that will be a good or bad thing. Also, daoc has bgs and a variety of other pvp areas not part of NF.
I think that there is a better reason to hold territory than there is in daoc, which should encourage more pvp.

yes these days DAoC does have more pvp areas.. and look how its fractured the population into lamers in the labby, and cry babies that cant handle real RvR hanging out in the BGs and always whining about balance issues... because the game isnt balanced for BGs...
but also, in daoc those other areas arent instanced... they are open world...
instances can have 21534356 people in them, and you'll only ever see 10 or so other people, because there all in seperate instances, fragmenting the population and loosing the epic feel of a MASSIVE multiplayer online game.

I understand his points now, and that was a huge problem when warhammer was new. But with GW2 i think the instances and torunaments will be more of something you just do once in a while.
In the instances you are bumped to max level and everyone has the same gear and you wont gain exp or any items just points for titles or items that wont effect your charaters power.
And in the PVP zone they said you can level from 1 to max level and get all the drops and gear from killing in PVP. There will also be PVE and PVE dynamic events happening in the PVP zone syou will see some people trying to level there (im assuming better exp like DAOC frontiers offers) SO you will also see lots of ganking and the complaints and the people coming to find the gankers. (basically small pvp fun away from the keep raids)
So i see the instance matches just being something you do here and there to test your character. yes there probably be a few people that just do that but thats the same with the BG people in DAOC who dont level there character out.

Gw2 also has open world pvp with fewer zones than Daoc, so I dont see how it's worse than Daoc.
