Would have to install a 3rd party software on your comp to be able to enforce that/play. Thats the only way to make it work. Like punkbuster for some FPS games.

you mean to try and enforce it.. people can just open a virtual machine to run the ts/vent software in, or a second computer ... or a laptop... or hell an android phone/tablet can install ts/vent

its 100% impossible to prevent.

Why is it so horrible to use vent? You download it in 2 minutes, put on a headset/headphones and you don't even have to speak a word. Or is it because only nerds use teamspeak and vent and you don't want to be one?

I am a casual player. I don't think that vent/ts is the problem. As Semi4 said, the problem as I see it is 'easymode'... everyone wants to be uber now. I'm willing to enjoy the journey, and as long as I can find like-minded players who don't mind me not being uber... I'm having fun. I don't think the solution is a new server, just in finding a good group of friends to play with.

Of course, if someone would bring back a truly classic server.... ::sigh::

I decline groups that require vent sometimes. There's lots of times I don't feel like listening to someone's lispy speech impediment voice when I just got finished work. Especially since most groups I've joined in vent lately do more talking about everything but the game. Then there's the guy who takes things too seriously who probably has that same speech impediment and actually gets pissed. You hear something like that and you just can't forget it. An adult man gets verbally mad about 2FG's wiping to a zerg while instructing them to "Randomly run around and take towers! Use no rhyme or reason so we trick them!" while it sounds like bits of food are flying from his mouth.

The majority of these are examples from joining a Scarlett Knights BG and vent. I don't recommend it to anyone who has any good image of this game left.

This post didn't end up being relevant to the conversation I guess. Just an example of why some people might not like vent.

Half the fun if not more for most people comes from talking to the players you're playing with anyways.

Vent/TS/mumble etc is there for convenience as most people prefer talking over typing.

I have to state that I was not trashing SK at all. Just whoever was leading the raid who sounded like an idiot/jerk. I'm normally nice and friendly.

And a lot of the followers too~ I have some pretty hilarious recordings of them getting bombed.

DakRT: And 4 Scouts makes a [stealth] zerg huh?
Zyzyg: What anytime snare are you talking about?...Your anytime style should be Polar Rift. Clearly you don't play a Shadowblade.
Steot: Its fact, I just dont have proof.
