1- Fun/casual/starter/. For the less hardcore player base.

2- same rules etc

3- no vent or team speak tools allowed (I know difficult to enforce).

4- a group fill tool, much like the one we have where you can fill it in and auto fill group- this would be an option to allow the more casual players to fill groups and with an option to flag for the class you need.

Maybe even choose how many players you want in your group 2-8 and maybe even you could choose realm ranks in filter too.

Lots of fun pugs. You could of course make your own groups.

5- Maybe we could even copy characters over or they give existing player 2 free 50s

6- I think there is a big gap what puts new players off and casual player will find it hard to compete vs set groups who vent up/TS and play most nights.

7- I think thats why we see atleast 1/3 of the player base playing steathers.

Guess I longing for the old days, I could just log on and get a group for a few hours on me cleric.

Before you flame me I have run vented set groups with me rr9 savage on euro server. I have seen both sides.

This just an idea, maybe 2 servers this casual one and ywain.

I've never had a problem with vent players only vent players who are horrible who cant multitask and type as well. Completely useless in a big fight. I get that everyone has different skill levels but damn. Using vent does not equal a good player. Someone that can type and vent does.

There is a huge difference between the impossible and the difficult. The above suggestion is not difficult to enforce, it is impossible to enforce. Because the suggestion is impossible to enforce it is just a fantasy.

An easy way to fill groups would be a good thing for the game.

Mythic’s existing LFG system seems to have been designed by someone who hated the idea of a LFG system but was forced to make one anyway, so they built something that had almost no useful features and almost no one uses it.

For a decade now I have advocated a better and more comprehensive LFG system with quest helper features, where groups that are forming would be auto-ported to a staging area, etc. . . . Mythic has never seemed to consider it of much importance. . . . but they have always been prone to egocentric stupidity.

You are correct that there is a huge min/max problem in DAoC. Even with the game having a huge min/max challange, more easy-mode is not what the game needs. It would seem that suggestions 5 through 7 are based on a faulty paradigm.

Easy-mode has done far more harm to the game than it has done good. The game does not need free level 50s. Giving free level 50s is so faulty in so many different ways. . . sorry but it is not a good suggestion.

The more easy-mode that is put into the game the smaller the population. Players do not ‘NEED’ easy-mode. Yes players may spout that they ‘want’ easy-mode changes but most people yell for things that are selfishly self-destructive. Unfortunately over the years Mythic seems to have given in to Mythic’s own egocentric selfishly self-destructive urges.

this would never work since some skilled people would create characters just to bash on the scrubs. A whole server where everyone is bad waiting to be farmed. Sounds tasty....

Seems as always been the case anyways. Far and few are the fights between players of equal caliber, normally either 1-3 decent players get rolled by /assisting no /using FG. Or Skilled 8 killing 8+ that again are just the /assisting no /using badies.

The funny thing is that most of the better groups out are pugs. The few guilds that run around are generally mainland dodgers. It's just that people assume when they get ripped that the other group is a guild group or had adds or whatever.

Or you could just download vent.

www.ventrilo.com

It takes about 30 seconds, and is easier to use than these terrible VN boards.
