Yackety_Yack posted: Most of the arguements against Bard love, are from those who play a level 50 Bard. For those of us who don't have a level 50 Bard we find it a pain to level it, in many cases you're stuck in a bg spamming Bard lfg xp. So you decided to go out and do it yourself, and with the 2 points you have into weapon and it takes forever to kill a mob.(and don't say spec more into weapon, because when you do get a group. they get pissed if you don't have the chants/speed/mezzes you're supposed to)
If a Skald or Minstrel catches you by yourself, you have nothing to fight back with and you're as good as dead.
So then you say, well a Bard is a group class. But once again some of those BG's are almost empty at certain hours, so instead of leveling like you want to do, you sit there and wait for someone to log in and hope they'll group you.
To be honest it's far easier to level a Druid then it is a Bard.
Uh what? Leveling my bard through the bgs was insanely easy. Instead of saying bard lfg, try saying bard looking for dps. I never had a problem getting enough people to breeze through the quests and kill all the mids/albs that I could find. Virtually everyone leveling in the bgs is just dreaming about having a bard come along to make it so much easier, you just have to put forth a little effort.

If you want to solo in RvR on a Bard, it's a kiting class. You're not meant to get caught, like a long list of other classes that want to solo in RvR. As for leveling, sure if you make it an ability that works in PvE only.

Zyzyg: What anytime snare are you talking about?...Your anytime style should be Polar Rift. Clearly you don't play a Shadowblade.

I guess you didn't read it all, But once again some of those BG's are almost empty at certain hours. During prime time, yes it's not hard to get a group. Off peak hours it is, i've leveled 3 Bards in the last few weeks and found that from lvl 25-35 it was hard to find players in the BG's when i had the time to play. Then Leirvik 40-44 was another challenge to find off peak hours players. Cathal valley is just a nightmare to level a toon in, FG's rolling in every 5 minutes and the ever present groups of enemy stealthers waiting for you to make the first pull.

Thats all i'm really asking for is alittle dps love, and Pve dps is just fine. That proc Healers get that only works in Pve would be awesome, Or the self dps damage add that primary healing type classes get would be just fine too.

GardianAngel posted: I feel your pain on the level 1-49 front, but ANYTHING you add to make that

What a bard needs in pve is a group. I know it sucks, but that is the real
solution to your problem. Even at 3-4am you can still solo those BG quests
to level 30, then do the glass quests.
I have a bard (50) and a bard bot for every BG on both of my alt accounts.
I soloed them a lot since these quests started. It can be done.
It's gotten quiet in the middle bg's at off peak times. What i'd like to see is just a Pve proc/da that would make swinging at mobs alittle less torturous. I don't see how it could really affect end game PvP.

Leirvik is extremely easy to level through as a bard. Turn on speed and endo, run to the tower, suicide, repeat. Very fast and no challenge at all. Cathal was quite easy to level up in as well. If there are enough people on for there to be a nonstop stream of fgs and stealth zergs, then you obviously aren't playing at some super off peak time with no one on, and should be able to get together a full group as well. Leveling a bard in the bgs is very, very easy, and if you are having trouble with it, you aren't trying.

In fact, they have 2 instant amnesias. Any other CC class in the game would crap all over themselves for an instant amnesia, let alone 2.
Bards are incredibly balanced, they just suck to play unless you're both good and a real fan of the class.
Ya those work wonders when you're grinding away solo killing mobs.....

Certain BG's always have players in them, Thid/Molv/Cv. I have yet to see The Albs or Mids not running at least a 4 man regardless of the time, i have also never seen at least 2 stealthers camping Xp spots in there.
bOxy is a perfect example of that, his guild is always running in Cv killing Xp'ers. If they die to a either of the other 2 realms, they just switch over to the realm that killed them and kill the other Xp'ers.
But it go's beyond just questing a Bard for Xp. Leveling arti's is a prime example, if you don't have a second account or guildies/friends online willing to help it's a nightmare.
