Ive already told him where he is wrong.
- The old tests might have been wrong (link to them please)
- For something with no variance, 25 casts is fine for determining the casting speed.
- Give it a try with your weapon. The only way it's going to come out differently is if you get haste/celerity procs during the cycle.

1. i cant link to them becuse the search function dont work for me and i dont remember the names of the threads. The old tests where not wrong. And tbh i treust a 10.000cast sample above a 25 cast sample where you multi it with 4 to get a sample of 100.
2. No it is not, not with server lag going on. i bet you that your melee swings would not end up on 1.5s if you did such a small sample despite not having a variaty.
3. No, if you are caped you are caped, additional speed increses wont affect it at all.

Please do this for me:
-Log on a char with a 2.8s spell
-Try casting the spell with 356 dex
-Then cast the same spell with 391 dex
-Then try again with 392
Or try any other break point you like better...

What software do you use to "clock" with? I dont mind testing myself and putting results on the boards. If you dont want it widespread just PM me. Thanks.

For slajzer's theory to be true, that would mean Mythic's casting system had been a hastily coded stat system that does not accurately reflect each point, but rather a simplistic "tier" system in which stats are applied.
Now I ask you, does that sound like something that would happen in a Mythic product. WELL DOES IT?

Players that played back then will know. This is something that comes up on the caster boards all the frecking time. Everyone tries to do incomplete tests over and over again and for some odd reason no test is the other alike. I wonder why, they all use 10-100 casts should they all not be identical dont you think?
There is client lag you tool, the further away from the server you are, the diff kind of ISP provider etc etc all affect it. Or do you seriously belive that you only get lag if there is a lot of ppl online at the same time?

I understand the lag part but how do you explain the breaking points? People over at the ywain boards have been able to replicate them and confirm that they are in fact there.
I used this program to clock the tests, you'll have to play in windowed mode to use it and click start/stop yourself, but it's simple and works well. I also counted the spells myself.

The lag is pretty inconsequential for something with a static cast time.
