Bump, when are they going to get their bloody website up and working properly??

It will never happen.

I do know of various tweaks and updates incoming to the structure of the new website, but I don't know the time frame or the plan for the addition of the missing features.

I think a lot of people have tbh, they could even forget the realm war and just fix the pages that are essential for the site. Having a site with broken/under construction links is retarded, makes it look like a fake game

I'm sure they could even get a 16yo kid to do it for free/work experience for his CV

Been wondering why they pulled it in the first place. Maybey they are using the database or resources for another game? Are the benefits/costs worth redoing the herald for them? Do they even read any of these posts?

Something I touched upon in a previous post was most likely the reason for the rush of the unfinished site, a security vulnerability of which users could gain access to the php code and web dbs. I was informed of this and then I informed Mythic. They took the server down completely, and it isn't a case of just switching it on again. That site had all the pre-built goodness, such as the housing directories and other live server db related herald stuff.

It's not something their limited resources at this time can work on replacing, perhaps in the future, I know some changes for the site are planned and in motion, but the studio is pretty busy with all the new Wrath of Heroes stuff, their web guys certainly with all the account center changes to prepare for the beta.

Are you really suggesting that you yourself are to blame for provoking the knee jerk reaction of pulling the existing site and replacing it with that useless, god awful ugly, doppleganger they now call the Herald ?

Good call

You speak of limited resources, they are still getting subs, a goodly number in fact, some of that should go to replacing a very popular and useful part of the game. Currently though I see no actual results of those "limited resources".

I would also point out that they did say that they intended to fix it in their lovely July 8 post ...

........ "Last but not least, we have received a lot of questions about the Realmwar page; specifically the character, guild and housing search. To make them more stable and secure, we are in the process of rebuilding these pages from scratch. So please be patient with us and we will keep you updated about the process" ...

So in the past 6 weeks we have heard nothing at all and its been about 10 weeks since they pulled the original. They could at least be honest with the playerbase that IF they have no intent to bring it back in some sort of timely manner to be up front and say that.

Lol. The lack of integrity and honesty towards paying customers is appalling.

I really just think they have gave up on both mmo's and are putting the whole team to star wars, hoping they can take the majority of the mmo market with them. We will have to wait and see if it works,

IMO at first just like every mmo, star wars will shine, but give it 2-3 months and people will have reached end game and be begging for content. Then the crowd will disperse between all the other mmos once again, some go to wow, some go to Lotr, some come back to daoc and ect. but given the lack of updates for daoc I really do not think it will last that much longer.

People will say Daoc has lasted this long, well still through those times people had a good website, and occasional updates. They just have stopped all together, half the time the account management system does not work at all. It took me three days to reactivate my account, because they had account maintenance.

They might keep the servers up, but the game will be dead if this total disregard for the paying customer keeps up.

Just my opinion on the subject

"Working as intended" is a quote old time DAoC players will remember.
