Heres another dumb request: Be nice.

If there was a nice way to say "you did not think this through thoroughly" I would have typed that.

Lol. You say "I disagree, you didnt think that through thoroughly, heres why..."

Not that hard.

Even that is not a particularly nice way of phrasing it.

Whatever, just say i disagree, heres why...

Anyway, to say hes trolling in one post, and then next say "I couldnt think of a nice way to say you didnt think that out thoroughly" is a lie. Thats not what you thought at all.

It's not unreasonable to think that someone saying a Smite Cleric being a caster in chain is trolling.

A caster? I guess it depends on your definition. I tend to agree that its not a textbook caster, however, its melee capabilities are totally non existent, and heal capabilities are extremely meh. All it can do is cast.

So, to talk to someone, who you dont know(im pretty sure that is gathered) and havent seen on the boards much thats calling a smiter a caster isnt a total stretch. I would say is hardly grounds for calling someone a troll. I generally think that word is used to much, but thats neither here nor there. If it were someone you had a lot of VN interaction with then I wouldn't question it, although calling someone a troll is pretty much an insult regardless of who you're saying it to unless you're 100% sure.

Caster = List caster. Thats the definition of a caster, the rest are called hybrids or support.

List caster = class that keep their spells as they level up. They dont replace lower level spells with higher level ones in their spellbook.

I agree with Devaster that a 1500 range instant interrupt would have to come at high Smite spec. I've always said that in the past as well, just didn't clarify it in this thread. I agree the reasoning for this is primarily due to balance issues with healing Clerics, but even more so from a Smiter perspective I don't want it to be a tool that all Clerics of all specs can get. Smite is fairly lacking in utility over all, and adding a tool that you could get with low Smite spec would defeat the purpose of boosting Smite. The point is to give Smiters a tool to help them Smite, not Clerics in general for obvious reasons.

The comparison to Archers is Apples n' Oranges. First of all Clerics don't get Stealth, so invariably a Smiter's main reason to get an instant interrupt would be to have a better chance to defend himself against Archers whom almost always have the initiative from the get go! (Not to mention a bigger front-load and much longer range.) The same goes for Casters where even if we do get the jump on them, they can QC and take the initiative from us with basically no realistic way for us to counter. We can at best run and blow insta heals and hope to live.

Also, unlike Clerics, Archers can all get Golden Spear Javelins to regain the initiative if they need to, and those are on a 30s RuT as well. Hunters get an insta-cast sprinting pet to boot. I play 3/3 Archers at RR7/8/10 and this would be no concern at all to me from an Archer PoV.

So it's not like a ~30s RuT 1500 range instant interrupt would mean sudden dominance from Smite Clerics. It would merely even the playing field a little, and make it a smidgen harder to shut them down completely, and leaving them utterly defenseless aside from limping to safety or making a suicidal rush hoping to get the PBAE Mess off in time before you die. (And often have it fail to hit the target thanks to lag and its tiny radius! lol!)
