Hey all
I think there should be something in the smite line that resembles quick-cast. At maybe 35 smiting or something.
Has this been discussed/rejected before.
Granted we have the instas - snare and mezz. But there's out-right resists. And there's purge. Quick-cast would be nice.

A smite cleric IS a caster... hello. Thats why you spec smite. Because you want to be a caster with chain armor.

Quickcast really has no place on clerics, even for smiters. A ranged insta dd at 20+ smite would be more fitting.

This.
Quickcast is only available for focus casters. Clerics are not focus casters...

DakRT: And 4 Scouts makes a [stealth] zerg huh?
Zyzyg: What anytime snare are you talking about?...Your anytime style should be Polar Rift. Clearly you don't play a Shadowblade.

I understand what he's saying though, and just because a Smiter would have QC it still wouldn't be a nuker in chain by a long shot....BUT it's still not needed. It opens up a can of balance worms, and would evoke a lot of peen envy for other hybrids that would want to be next. (Not to mention healers.)
I agree that the ranged insta interrupt is the better approach, and one we've been begging for for basically as long as I can remember.
You have to remember that we have 2 forms of instant PBAE CC already that Casters don't have, and we have a casted stun to boot. That's a lot of CC if we got QC to boot.
We do need a means to re-gain initiative, especially vs. Archers where we will always be attacked first and have literally no way to defend ourselves but to either attempt to run away or charge in.

Like everything in this game, you have to understand how it will balance in regards to group play. And a ST ranged rupt just isn't necessary on a cleric. Perhaps at a higher smite spec so group specs couldn't achieve it.

So do archers need a way to regain initiative when they're hit by adds/jam/other archers?
