I'm the best at low key bragging probably.

I thin warhammer was ass because it tried to copy WoW too much. GW2 is definitely trying different things.

Also true.

Gear based PvP just doesn't work. DAOC pre TOA had it right all along.

I never thought about it like that... but it really makes sense. The individual rankings of just RPs and the weekly leaderboards was enough to keep people going, it didn't need to be supplemented by an endless loot farming cycle.

Yeah... but once WoW came out it seems to have solidified the notion in everyone's mind that an endless loot farming cycle would lead to an endless release of endorphins which would keep the players (paying for the privilege of) coming back for more.

Of course I dunno what motivated TOA which I think came out a year before WoW? Just the need for content to sell retail boxes, PvP imbalancing results be damned?

The basic idea behind TOA was really cool. It was just horribly executed. I think that if the rewards were primarily cosmetic or provided an easy alternative to the calculus required to spellcraft a decent rvr suit they would have been much more successful. Instead we got % modifiers and stat cap boosts.

The bugs and grinding didn't really help either.

I enjoyed all the raids and encounters in toa. but, it's like being assigned a book to read for a class. being forced to do it makes it blow.

agreed. I enjoyed the encounters in toa, but I hated the results (ie: toa bonuses)

Very true.

Need more unforced stuff like 8 manning sidi for no reason but to say that we could.

Holy crap, I am loving how the out of range mechanic works for this game.
