I dont know ash sounds pretty detailed to be just hypothetical. Also if your situation is more than just hypothetical it leads us to our motive.

How else could I have gone about it?

actually mythic can restore your toons with EVERYTHING on them. someone in my guild did it to their RM by mistake and immediately appealed. CSR basically ahd them do liek you /charcopy to pendragon. had him make a level 1 toon with same name, log off acct and not to log on until he received the e-mail saying his toon was restored. think it took them around 4 hours to do it. he got everything back inc art's/money/all drops he was wearing/had in his inventory.

not if the toon's items were traded away.
otherwise it would be pretty simple to duplicate items wouldnt it.
