thanks for the update and your commitment to the program cuz id be without from decal. AC is without it. will when its ready. much to yahs with this huge job.

Will the people that don't upgrade to ToD still be able to use Decal? (obviously, if it's the same client.exe that's a no, but I haven't heard that confirmed either way)

as Maddy said.. everyone is getting the new client regardless of if you upgrade to ToD or not.


ToD is more about the updated graphics and the new ingame content. the normal AC/ACM people will still get the new client with the new UI, but I believe their textures will be old (not updated) and they won't have access to any of the new ToD content or landmass as was similar with the ACM Expansion.

so to put it bluntly, Decal will be broken for everyone, regardless of if you go out and buy the expansion or not... so don't let Decal be the deciding factor of whether you want to go out and purchase the exapansion or not. Decal will operate (or not operate) the same for both.

Umm, what are we buying the expansion for again?

Darius: there are NO new textures for the old client. None of the visual "pretty" that you'll get in AC:ToD. Also the HUGE lack of content. There is quite a lot of COOL content in AC:ToD which you will completely miss out on if you don't purchase it. Just like you'd miss out on the Queens quest, or the Pincer quests if you didn't purchase ACM. Also all of the items that come from the Expansion are marked "Expansion Only" which means that you cannot have/use those items unless you purchase the Expansion.


I personally think of the expansion more in terms of what AC was to ACM. ACM was a large content patch basically, which is the same for AC:ToD.. the difference between what happened with ACM, and what is happening with AC:ToD however is that they have gone BEYOND just the large content update, and have actually upgraded the client, and textures. Sure everyone gets the new client, but there is a lot you'll miss out on visually and content-wise if you don't purchase the expansion.
