this might have been mentioned already(tooo much crap to skim through) but, has anyone looked into the possibility to leach off the IG help windows for decal?

looking at it without looking via any decompilers unless it cannot do what the decal devs want is it much of a possibility to go that route?

"There are several departments that go into making a game. Sales, Animation, Modeling, Coding, Interior design, not to mention a decent knowledge of Physics and Anatomy."

- Those tech schools are worthless and barely anybody breaks into the industry. Sales and marketing is taken care of business guys with actual degrees from accredited places.. not some guy that took 2 courses in business math lol, arts are done by concepts, animators, modellers like you said. Wtf interior design? Sorry dude but we only hire people with experience in level design, etc.. if somebody with an interior design degree applied we'd get a nice laugh. Physics is a given if you are a developer. You MUST know mathematics, physics, basic sciences, and obviously computer science and engineering. Those tech schools are fine for basic modelling / animating jobs, but the developers that come out of places like that are just horrendous.

"In my opinion you are just jealous of the acomplishments brought forth by the decal team and I can sympathise with them as to how hard it is to update decal."

- Yeah I'm jealous that some guys spent their time hacking a game... reaaaaaaaaaal jealous But never once did I ever say it was not hard to update or keep current. Most people don't realize a few things, such as how tough it was to first hook and properly get Decal running with plugins, and secondly to keep it updated on changes.

"When I was making eq trainers the code was not incripted so all I had to do was decompile and search jump referances. Ac however is a little harder due to the incription. They actually have to search for the hexidecimal equivelant in whats called the residual memory to find what they are looking for, no easy task."

- Do you mean encrypted? Do you mean resident memory? Wow nice school you go to lol ... obviously they just take anybody with the cash. Let me guess.. you get to print your own diploma at the end of the 3 month course?

At work it's either you graduated from Fullsail, Digipen, or have a REAL degree (ie science or mathematics based from an accredited University if you are a developer, obviously arts based for content and design based jobs). We have a couple guys without those requirements but they had a few years of experience with a nice portfolio. We 'file' tech school resumes in the bin.

^^ You sound like a complete and utter twat mate.

Big headed, conceited, know-it-all, condescending, arrogant, belittling are just a few of the more positive things I can say about you Imperil. With your vast experience, knowledge & leadership skills I would have thought you could get decal up & running in a matter of minutes ......
