That is not at all true. People almost always get flammed on this forum for the same thing: failure to read or failure to follow instructions. Failing to read the stickies or some of the posts on the front page is a big no no with most people here. For anyone who has even casually read the posts on this board, it is obvious that the OP did not make any effort to understand the situation before posting. Considering how many people could have flammed him, I think he got off fairly light. Most people probably are ignoring posts like these.

Well, that is the problem, this is a chat board, not a website. People have this strange idea of actually being able to ASK a question, as opposed to just looking up statically defined web pages with the answer.

There is absolutely no need to ask a question that has already been asked and answered. That's the general problem why people get flammed. It isn't that they ask questions because you're right.. that is the point of a messageboard... to discuss and ask questions.. the problem comes when you ask the SAME question which has already been answered. (or is easily accessible through the sticky posts or a simple Google search)

Nothing will stop people from asking a question (unfortunately). My post was intended to shed some light on why people get flammed on this board as the poster I was responding to suggested that everyone here eventually gets flammed.
*If* a poster does not want to get flammed, they can follow the very simple advice and *at least* read the sticky posts and take a moment to *think* before they post. If not, they are certainly free to post the question and get flammed. Simple cause and effect. I'm not claiming it is right or wrong. That is just how this board works.

True enough, but stupid me, I thought that flaming people was a bannable offense.
And once again, people keep forgetting one thing ... If you think the question is stupid, has been asked and answered a hundred times before, etc ... you are under no obligation to answer it. You are, however, are under an obligation not to flame people. It's called "self control".

I'm under no obligations whatsoever to not flame people. I don't consider flaming a breach of self control on my part, as it is usually inspired.

Oh, I expected to get flamed.
I just wanted to point out that its pretty sick that the ACM/UCM plugins are all up and running, even with the multiple versions of Decal causing problems with the other plugins. I guess we should applaud the programmers of the ACM/UCM plugins. Yet, the plugins that would benefit Dereth as a whole are still being worked on or awaiting for a beta release of decal.

BTW, another UCM program is being developed now ... Virindi Censor ... think of it as the "Net Nanny of Decal".

I don't see anything 'sick' about a perfectly legal and permitted plugin being up and running before another. Just because they dont fit into what YOU think should be allowed.

What makes the original posters question asinine is the fact that:
1: There have been many discussions on this forum and ACdev about the problems they (decal devs and plugin devs) run up against.
2: The antagonistic syntax of his/her "question". (Which I highly doubt was intended to be a real question.)
3: The blatant audacity to expound the belief that the developers owe it to the end users of Decal to release their plugin.
A little tact could of resulted in a topic that would elicit or evoke a number of good responses. The poster chose that tone to result in a flame. The flame was warranted.
