They should create a brand new game, fresh, modern graphics, built-in tools we all have been dying for, horses with capes, dual wield and two-handed weapons, anti-macro, naming conventions, seperate PK and PE servers, etc etc and name it Asheron's Call III. You start there as level 1 if you roll a new toon or, you can enter a one-way portal in AC1 and start in AC3 with a level bonus and the same character name. The maximum level bonus would be level 10 or so, not too much of a head start.
Hmm that sounds a lot like Vanguard...
