Hiya,

I have tried to update. I get an Interface not registered message, then the server not working. I tried the above methods and decal still will not update. Can ya help me?

My decal is doing the exact same thing. Nothing I try is working.

Lillia1: the invalid character is because the XML files aren't actually XML files.. they have been encrypted and cannot be parsed through normal XML parsers such as the browser is trying to do. THAT is why you can't just do what you're trying to do, and instead have to do what Zalliun said.

That being said, if you cannot manually download the files, and the updater isn't working for you, then you've got other issues which need to be resolved.. most likely also .NET 2.0 related. Try installing the .NET 2.0 Framework again and see if the updater works.. if not, please provide the error from the updater instead and maybe someone else can be of more assistance.

I reinstalled the Net 2 as you asked. It seems to install with no problems. However, I still get the same messages from Decal when I pulled it up. It couldnt find the XLM files, the Interface was not registered, and it couldnt find the host server. They were the only messages I found.

I didn't mean to use Decal again to get the update.. I meant download the file manually, or use the information provided at http://www.decaldev.com instead of trying to do it manually.

I had already updated manually. The decal folder does contain the files for the update but decal says it still needs to be updated, that is does not have the XLM files (which it does)and that the Host server is not up ( which it is). I tried to update again, but it does not seem to see the files that are in it's own folder.

the utility works fine you just need to make sure you save it to disk somewhere first , otherwise it wont run.

Oh It works what they mean is that the utility will replace the update buttton.

For dummies like me.

1. download the utility to your desktop or where ever to disk

2. load decal like you normally do but do not click update

3. open the utility and run it decal is now loaded

4. Proceed to AC and play with you current favorite utilities.

TY BTW
