all of the <No Version> mean that you improperly uninstalled the plugins.

I was getting the Xs before the <no version>. I uninstalled & reinstalled a few times to see if it would get it working. or something i should try to fix that?

You could try to do a repair install and see if the versions come back, if they dont you may need to run something to uninstall/cleanup the registry/GAC(not sure if they use the GAC) and then try installing fresh.

If Decal is updating (has write perms for its xml dir), and is updating, and is complaining of a mismatch

in client versions, then you -might- have a borked AC install and/or AC install registry problems.


I would do the following, because, while it seems like a long road, doing these little tweaks and failing

seem to be taking longer.


1. Uninstall Decal

2. Uninstall AC

3. Optional imo, but try to clean out registry remnants for both.

4. Reinstall AC

5. Log in to AC using the software provided ToD launcher icon on your desktop.

6. Allow the client to patch if necessary, go into the game and verify all is as expected.

7. Reinstall Decal, DO NOT INSTALL ANY PLUGINS YET!!

8. While logged completely out of the game, run Decal. Do the update. VERIFY THE XML FILES WERE ACTUALLY CHANGED.

9. You can do a Refresh, but prefer closing Decal COMPLETELY from systray and re-launch it.

10. Check for red x's.


Branch A (Red X's are gone)


11a. With Decal active, log into game with the ToD launcher.

12a. Verify you have a Decal bar visible.

13a. Logut, completely shutoff Decal from systray and add plugins ONE AT A TIME.

14a. Verify each plugin shows up in-game, and behaves correctly


Branch B (Red X's still there)


11b. My only suggestion at this point would be to open Decal config, select Options, and tick the

Alternate Injection box, then go to step 8. Just fishing at this point..

Uninstalled and reinstalled what?

Chances are you should reinstall/uninstall the plugins that you're getting the errors from, then once everything is clean, do an export, and post it. Then we can help determine where the problem resides.

CCleaner is a free and well respected registry cleaner, it may be worth looking into (there should be a version for all windows versions, worth looking into anyways to see if the version of windows you have is supported).

Don't know if anyone has solved this yet but something worked for me.

Order of doing things.
Opened decal, hit update and got all the red crosses.
Wasn't happy so closed it and went ahead with getting the game patch.
Used Dual client, got the patch on all accounts.
Curiosity won and I opened Decal to find all the red crosses gone.
Logged out of all accounts then logged back in again.
Got into game with Decal working as it was before the patch.

I noticed something yesterday.


If you have multiple drives and AC is installed on both of them....make sure they are ALL updated or decal will keep showing the red X's.
