I have installed AC and Decal and all the related files (except DualClient) according to the guide posted in the sticky and on wiki.

When I load Decal, as admin, I get a popup message saying:

Your AC Client is out of date. If you are using dual log, make sure all directories contain a current version, or get the latest version from Turbine. (client version is 0.011.3976 xml version=0.0.11.3998)

I know I can fix the version number in the registry if I want to but I don't feel it should be necessary.

Then I configure Decal, hit the update button, but the red crosses do not go away.

I have tried to change the files manually from the website, which still seems to be kinda down, but nothing helps

Any ideas?

Also, close decal, right click and run as admin then update.

Decal is installed in c:/games/decal/

I run both AC and Decal as admin

all according to the guide posted above, still keep getting the message that AC is out of date, which seems impossible as I can run it without any problems.
and still getting the crosses

BTW i checked my client and it is definitely the right one: 00.00.11.3998, just like Decal wants, but somehow decal can't see that

is this an intial install of decal? is it possible the registry is pointing to an OLDER version of decal in a protected directy that can not be updated?

Haven't played AC in 3 years and I got a new PC in the mean time, so there is no chance there is an older version of anything around.

I think what he meant was did you initially install it in the default directory and maybe that's still stored in the database?

I usually do not install game related stuff outside my games folder, and I did clear the registry of any traces of Decal every time I reinstalled it.
