I've been trying to use VT on my void mage and I've found some of the choices made by VT to be... unusual.
It appears that VT basically treats DoT spells as vulns. In general, that's not a bad idea, but it doesn't take advantage of the single thing that makes DoT spells interesting - they have fixed damage.
That means that if you're hitting a monster with 150 hitpoints with a DoT spell that's going to do 200 hitpoints of damage, there's no point in hitting the monster any more - it's going to be dead in a few seconds. Unfortunately VT decides it's appropriate to continue to apply other DoT spells on top of the monster. IMHO these spell do nothing but waste casting time - they might make the monster die faster, but that time could be better spent starting on the *next* monster.
It's certainly the case that monsters will heal themselves and maybe they won't die with just one DoT spell, but until the DoT period has expired, there's no point in adding on more spells until the first has run its course.
Of course when you're attacking a monster that has more HP than the DoT spell, you need to cycle through the DoT spells. But once you've applied enough damage to kill the monster, that's enough.
One other thought. When the monster gets below 100 or so hp, it often makes sense to use a nether bolt or streak for the finishing blow instead of applying a new DoT spell.
Again, these are just thoughts. I'm happy with VT as a void mage, it's just that I would like it to be so much better .
Thoughts/Comments? I don't know if this belongs on its own thread but...

If i'm not mistaken, VI threw the void compatibility in just to get it working. She has it on her to-do list as far as getting it to work like it should.

Hello Virindi-Inquisitor,
Your program, and all associated plugin's, are a fine piece of work and I find all of the options absolutely amazing. Yes I will buy you a cup of coffee!
Getting it setup has been easy, especially thru your handy guides.
When the plugin is loaded it says I should register to receive full benefits of this plugin.
Two questions I do have:
1.Where or how do I go about registering?
When I first loaded the plugin I mouse clicked on the upper right hand corner of some windows. The end result was them becoming immovable/locked.
2. How do I return all the VT windows to their default state so that they can be moved around?
Thank you,
HostyleFFS

HOstyle, hold the left ctrl button down, then click the pin? icons at the top right corner of the windows. It's one of the icons that shows up there.

Feature Request:
Level 8 Dispells.
Would be awesome if possible. I have the level 7's learned and 8's learned. Level 7's get dispelled. Unfortunately, when the level 8's get cast they have to be manually dispelled as V-Tank enters an endless cycle trying to dispell them. Would be great if the ability to dispell them was available!
Edit: Another cool thing would be the possibility of melees casting lures on shields. Casting, for example, a level 3-5 lure increases damage on shielded mobs by a lot. This could be an option under "monsters" such as a letter "S" with a new column that would be for the level of "vuln" to be casted - could also be used for normal vulns so that vuln spell level is selectable.

Hey VI,
Decided to head into POTB with a friend this weekend. Ran into a weird problem. My melee char, who was looting, kept trying to pick up the lugian weapons. So, it would fight when a Luggie came into range, but it would not loot. Just see the red error message " ou cannot pick up the Rocks".
Is there a way to have VT not try to select rocks, can't tell if this is ones in their hands or after they have fallen. There are plenty around fairly quickly. Just thought I'd ask if there was a quick fix.
Thanks again!

Thank you ball cruncher. That solved it.

Check and see what parameters you have set for thrown weapons, as far as looting is concerned. May have something to do with that. Are you using vtank or alinco to loot?

If I remember correctly, when you log in, there is a clickable link in the chat window for registering.

I'm using VTank to loot, but I don't have it set to pick up any thrown weapons. I even added an item to ignore the rocks, but that didn't stop it either.

Here's a VTank bug that's been affecting me since the release of Aetheria that I was finally able to nail down.
If your set to debuf a creature using VTank, and as you cast your debuff, you also happen to cast surge of destruction on yourself (from aetheria), VTank will consider that debuff landed even if you fizzle (probably if the creature resists too), and continue on to its next action.
The atheria cast shows up before the result of your debuff spell, which may be triggering vtank's success filter.
