I don't think it was AC client that did that to your graphics card. I think it was all those hours you spend watching porn while playing ac in windowed mode.

This is not an AC issue, it is an issue with the nVidia driver. I get the same problem running Rift on a 9800GTX+, but I don't have the dump files to tell you what .dll crashes at the moment.
I, too, got artifacts on my BIOS screen, which required that I flash the BIOS to fix. I still get hard crashes from time to time, but I've yet to have it screw up the BIOS again.

I noticed a loud sound coming from my brand new PC when I was downloading updates for AC.
Also, running through the desert the area around me was completely white rather than brown.

I had a similar issue. AC was completely raping my GPU, to the point of capacitor whine.

I don't know why AC does this but I've noticed that it causes dirty dishes to stack high in my sink.

There is a radio button in AC's graphics options for landscape texturing (or something similar) turning that off resolved the all white issue for me.

AC character select screen likes to render 3000+ FPS which causes cap. whine from my 460. I do believe it's contributed to the degradation of my card.
