The xp chains and macroing killed the game and word of mouth keeps it dead.

Turbine needs to make an AC3 that is practically a mirror of AC1 but incorporates the aspects of Decal that the idiots who play this game "need." Return to original comp spell research system, but put SplitPea ingame in the form of Spellbooks which you can either use at a mage's shop after doing quests for them or (eventually) own yourself. Allow buff/trade bots by allowing accounts x number of "NPC's" per server that you unlock by leveling x number of PC's. Keep every other aspect of AC the same.

The people who ruined this game are the ones who need Decal, the ones who only play the shitty high end "content" that Turbine has been putting in for the last 5+ years. Everything that went wrong with this game had to do with Decal. After the Feb patch this game is going to be a shell of its former self.

I for one won't be unsubbing before then, though, because I am going to playing my poor little heart out until then. This is your last chance, people. Reroll.

I miss the sandbox thing most of all. Thats the main reason i play Rift. Sure, there is plenty of WoW/EQ funneling, but its the first time in years i have been able to sign into an mmo and do some random stuff and actually find a reward

AC is king of that. I used to own real estate in AC. I would love to again

Better yet, incorporate buff/tradebot NPC's into owning villa's/mansions and make them require upkeep the same way housing does.

Removing melee weapon types, instead putting in Heavy and Light melee skills and shield skill, with like Recklessness skill and thief/backstab skill. Or something?

Fuck Turbine's forums. Fuck Severlin. Fuck everything that has happened to AC.

Edit: They could have done so much with AC. Why not add new dimensions/overworld continents you could portal to and actually add new PLACES instead of just completely trashing the game?? If you are reading this, Severlin: FUCK. YOU.

Edit #2: Olthoi homeworld, anyone??? Severlin doesn't deserve AC.

Sounds like they want to do it the Blizzard way with cataclysm. WoW can loose customers but not AC.

When I read about the Feb update, the CU/NGE for SWG came to mind instantly.

Severlins biggest reasoning behind all of the changes seems to be to make the lesser melee skills on par with, or at least competitive with the main skills, i.e. dagger feasible as a main weapon compared to sword, staff comparable to mace. Heavy weapons training will allow you to use all heavy weapons, i.e. sword, mace, spear. Light weapons will contain UA, staff, dagger. You cannot train a specific weapon now but the skill which allows you access to several weapons. You can specialize a specific weapon by the use of an augment. You can only augment one weapon which will be akin to specializing before the changes. It's a mess and I cannot believe anyone is really behind this in the community, but they are.

I read the notes and the long thread at the official forums and hope they scrap the whole idea.

I agree with the poster above me, I think their time would be better spent designing new content/land masses rather than trying to redesign the core elements of the game 12 years in...
