It's not the greatest texture but generally if I'm eating it I'm in a hurry anyway, so it beats a cold bagel or poptart.

you could nuke the water and then add the oatmeal, that's how I did it as a kid. I have an electric cordless kettle now, and I freaking love it.

Nope, it has a base station, I never really knew how much I'd use this thing until I got it, I use it every day without fail.

I can understand eating it in a pinch if you absolutely must, but by choice?

Though, I purchased some Scottish oatmeal from Bob's Red Mill today, and it takes 4-5 minutes in the microwave, but is pretty good. Flavor isn't as good as steel cut oats, but they're good for if I forget to make my weekly batch of oatmeal for work breakfasts.

granted it isn't the best tasting...but when in a hurry, is better than nothing
I too would rather have old fashioned oats with cinnamon, raisins, real butter, sweetened, and some cream. Don't always have time.
