Bethesdas games are pretty buggy and its only worse on console. My coworker had a lot of problems with corrupted saves on fallout new vegas on the 360.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT GET SKYRIM FOR THE PS3\

1) Terrible game bug where once your game file reaches 5mb the frame rate slowly drops as it gets higher until it actually gets to 0 FPS.
Non-fixable as per Bethesda. So NO do not get Skyrim for the PS3. I made that mistake and had to rebuy it for the PC because i couldnt do anything.

2) Game freezes on loading screens and when you restart the PS3 it corrupts a random save file.

good lord. if it's unfixable, they should be issuing full refunds to every single ps3 game owner.

If you're going to buy a controller, I recommend this
http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Xbox-Wireless-Controller-Windows/dp/B004QRKWKQ/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1324941561&sr=8-4

Works for up to 4 players

Or if you already have a 360, just pick up the wireless receiver.

They are supposedly going to fix it in the next major patch. But yes if you can avoid playing it on PS3 I would say avoid it. I know I lag when I play... Once your save hits around 12MB it really starts to be a problem.

That's something that should have been fixed by day 2 of release. I'll also wager they knew about it, and released the game anyway. Thats why I won't buy anything from them till at least 6 months after release.

Fallout New Vegas had the exact same problem and people complained about it forever but they never did anything

The difference is, then it was oops -- we have a problem...

Here there are smoking guns laying around that Bathesda KNEW they had a problem BEFORE they released the game and actively hid that fact from the public before releasing the game. If they dont fix Skyrim, they open themselves up to lawsuits etc -- so they are working harder on actually fixing the problem.

The problem comes down to this:

An Xbox has a big bucket... You can fill it up all the way consistently and you know when it will overflow and it is easy to plan for said.

The PS3 has two smaller buckets... They add up to the same amount of water storage as the Xbox. The problem is the spigot is mostly over one bucket and it overflows with the other bucket half-full.

Yes if you take care, you can balance the water between the two buckets but it is harder to do and if you do not plan you get the above.
