Doing anything on a regular basis is not a problem unless you forego more important things to do that one thing each day.

But I want to use it as an excuse so that I can take my anger out on everyone and just pull the "it's a disease" card.

Ideology is not reality.
To make good policy, one must consider all ideologies and decide which best solves the reality of the situation. Ideology is afterall, JUST AN IDEA.

My biggest worry about drinking involves the calories.

My second biggest worry involves the cost.

I read that alcohol actually does not add much weight, because your body does not use alcohol calories very efficiently. 160 calories in a beer is not the same as 160 of a food item.

The bigger reason alcohol causes weight gain is people eat more when they drink, sleep more, exercise less, etc.

Didn't find the article I read but wikipedia has a small entry..
