My term of alcoholic: someone that needs a beer every day, and especially after work. Obviously its none of my business, but it feels like everyone is living the dorm-life again. What a shame. I just don't consider drinking a 12-pack as fun or exciting. At a party? Sure.

Well in a society that has lost all spirituality, the next best thing to turn too is alcohol and drugs. I mean, life sucks for the majority of people and numbing yourself with externals is an easy way to deal with problems, at least temporarily.

Yeah, life sucks for the majority and it ain't getting better with alcohol - that's my theory on it. What better does alcohol do for you? I haven't seen too many friends turn to drugs, which is mainly because of the costs involved. I noticed with alcoholics, you become a shell of yourself and have a lot of resentment towards people and even friends.

I don't know about that! If you feel like you NEED a beer every night, I think that leans a bit towards alcoholism. A buzz every night? Yeah, definitely!

If it doesn't affect the people around you, family, friends,people in your everyday life, it's not alcoholism.
Wanting a beer after a hard days work, even if it's every day isn't alcoholism, its your right.
